  1. Absolutely. These kids are playing tough when they're focused. They deserve our support.
  2. I have an idea. How about supporting the BasketBulls? It will make you appreciate FootBull that much more, I know it has for me. See you all at the Villanova game on Jan. 24th. I'm sure hope we upset them.
  3. I saw that GU kid, Jeff Green, play against UConn, and he's sick. Another set of big men to deal with, welcome to the Big East! We're really going to have to hustle tonight. Let's go Bulls.
  4. Uh, didn't Marquette upset UConn earlier in the Big East season? Last time I checked, UConn was worth a darn. Regarding USF, it's going to be painful to watch the BasketBulls for the next few seasons, but in the long-run we should put together the best basketball program in the state. Have patience and support your Bulls.
  5. I went to the Bull Ring after the St. Johns/USF basketball game and had a great time. The place had more USF stuff than the first time I went about two weeks ago. The place was rocking because of the New England/Denver game. By the way, I had the chicken nachos, and they were really good. I think I talked to the owner, he was a really tall guy from NJ (I think), he asked me if I was a USF alumn. I answered him in the affirmative, and he then proceeded to thank me for my patronage. We finally have our own USF-themed bar, let's go and support this business. They're obviously making more of an attempt to fit in with the university than any other bar/resteraunt in the area.
  6. I agree with Sol about playing without passion. The Bulls were completely out hustled by a gritty St. Johns team. The Red Storm's interior men, #'s 34 and 40, were giving our front court fits. Both of these guys were 6'10" and 250lbs plus. Their backcourt played some tenacious D (shout out to Jack Black) and could dribble penetrate with ease. Quite frankly, St. Johns wanted to win the game more. I have to once again, give props to the student section. They hung in and cheered the Bulls on until the game was put well out of hand. I can't blame the students for quieting down after St. Johns was up by about 20 points because it was quite obvious that our Bulls had already given up. Kudos also go out to McHugh Mattis because this kid hustled the whole game! I love watching him play, he's been a pleasant surprise this year. Bottom line, we all know b-ball is going to be tough to support this year, but USF b-ball needs our support. IF we want to make this an attractive basketball school to recruits, then we have to make it a fun enviornment even with an underachieving basketball team. I'll be looking forward to Villanova on the 24th. I hope all you local members come out and support.
  7. Chill, I'm not anticipating anything until after our Feb. 1st signing day.
  8. I'd say redshirt them. They would benefit from riding the pine for a season in the sense that they would become physically healthy for next year, and they may very well get a better grasp of RMC's system. Next year will be quite interesting with the two transfers from Arizona and LSU. I wonder how the high school recruiting is coming along?
  9. It's relevant because U. Buff. was supposedly interested in hiring our OC Rod Smith as their head coach. Buffalo, please take Rod Smth because he's the greatest offensive mastermind to ever step foot in the hallowed halls of USF. ;D We must market Mr. Smith, don't you think?
  10. If you are capable of going, then just GO! If you are a USF fan you will go to support the team no matter if they win or lose. I'll be supporting the Toros (Bulls) from South America.
  11. That's going up as my wallpaper right now. Gracias, ETK.
  12. I think it's good he's chastizing the Tampa Bay community for the low bowl game ticket sales. Honestly, the Bay area has been really apathetic when it comes to supporting USF. Maybe having Duemig and Sileo get on their soapboxes will inspire this town to support THEIR university and not the ones to the north or south of us.
  13. I agree that it's a horrible excuse, but we were talking about the average Tampa football fan. The Dec. 31st bowl date is the excuse I keep hearing over and over again from non-diehards. ET, I'll be on the beaches of Cartagena, Colombia. My parents have wanted to go for a while, so we organized the trip 6 months ago. Little did I realize, that the trip could potentially have conflicted with a bowl berth. Trust me, I wish I could split in two and do both, but I can't. Hopefully, I can catch a satellite feed of ESPN 2 down there somewhere. How did you watch Bulls games from Brazil?
  14. The biggest problem that I've noticed for the average Tampa Football fan is the date of the bowl. Many of the people I've tried to convince to support the Bulls in Charlotte say they would if the game wasn't scheduled on New Year's eve. What do you guys think? Unfortunately for me, I'll have to miss the Bulls first ever bowl game because I'll be in South America, which is a trip that has been in the works for over 6 months.
  15. The Brahma Bull would look sweet on some "throw-back" style gear.
  16. Why do you people insist on posting on our board?
  17. I agree with the comment about Cann. With the few minutes that he did play, he looked like he had a nose for the bucket while in the paint. Personally, I think we should give RMC another two recruiting classes to prove himself. Realistically, what other coaches are out there that we can afford? I know a lot of posters are calling for Huggins, but I wouldn't mind hiring Rick Majerus--the ex-Utah coach. He did some great things with Utah and that's freaking Utah! Another name that comes to mind is Perry Clark. He had some good squads with Tulane back in the day, but then went to Miami and did nothing. I just don't think Huggins is a clutch coach. Just my opinion
  18. I think we have a winner! I don't think Franks wants to be OC if he is forced to use the spread offense, as is Leavitt's preference.
  19. I want a "Fighting Whities" T-shirt. Where can I get one?
  20. Although the rest of the post I disagree with because I still think Smith needs to go, I actually agree with the sentence I quoted. Tampa should rally behind the Bulls more.
  21. No way I'd take John L. Smith. The guy seems way too flaky and relaxed with his players. His teams tend to be some of the most penalized in the country. I didn't like him at Louisville, and I liked him less at MSU during my stint in Lansing. I really hope The JIM stays and replaces Smith at OC. I know Jim likes to hire coaches he has worked with, so does anyone know of any OC's that have coached with Leavitt elsewhere that are available now?
  22. I would like to send a big "Thank You" to those posters and Bulls Pen lurkers that came out to the Pines Ale House to watch the game. Darren, the GM for the Pines Ale House, set us up with high tops for all 10 people that watched the game, and he even put the sound up for us. Unfortunately, the outcome of the game left much to be desired, but we are resilient Bulls fans and we must keep our heads up for the WVU game. It was nice to meet BULL2001, KiddJB, and some of the other posters whose names escape me right now. See you all at the WVU game!
  23. We will be meeting at the Pines Ale House at 2:45 pm. We need to be there early so we know how many seats we are going to need. I'm hoping for a good turn-out because we need to show Palm Beach/Ft. Lauderdale/Miami businesses that USF Bulls alumns put their money where there mouths are. It's all about mobilization. Let's do this!
