  1. I know it's probably a 45 minute drive, but a few of us from the board are getting together at the Pines Ale House to watch the game. The more people we have, the more likely we'll get the game with sound. Come on, make the drive.
  2. The latest is that since the USF/UConn game is on gameplan the Pines Ale House will be showing the game for sure. Lamar, the assitant manager, said depending on the amount of people we can get in there for the USF/UConn game, he would be willing to work with us on providing the sound for the game. I still think we should get there around 2:45 pm so we can get as many high top tables as we need. So let's get a roll call for definites in attendance. I think If we roll in there with a group of 20 we should be good. The info on the ale house is: Pines Ale House 11795 Pines Blvd. Pembroke Pines, FL 33026 (954) 438-0111
  3. I seriously doubt that they'll put the sound up for the USF/UConn game. It won't hurt to ask, though, so I will. I think I would have a better bargaining position if I knew exactly how many people to expect. Saying, "Hi, I have a party 30 coming in who want to watch the USF/UConn game and have the sound on," sounds so much better than, "Hi, I have an undetermined amount of people coming, could you please put the sound up for the USF/UConn game while Miami/UVa play on the other T.V.'s." Bottom line, I'll be happy to just watch the game on T.V., with or without sound, with or without fellow Bulls fans. However, my preference is definitely with sound and lots of rowdy Bulls fans. Speak up South Florida Bulls Pen posters. So how many will it be?
  4. Ok. So I have 4 definites (including myself, my brother, superfan, and 79 Bull). 2 possibles with those possibly coming with Superfan, AND one Bullzfan4life being held hostage by UF/FSU fans in Kendall. I say we should meet at 2:45 pm at the Pines Ale House, which should give us enough time to grab the necessary high-top(s) to accomidate everyone. We should be settled by the 3:30 pm kick-off. Any others interested? CubanBull et al?
  5. I like S&B's stuff. They had one in Lansing, MI, which carried nothing but MSU and UMich stuff. It'll be nice to get some cheap USF T-shirts.
  6. I'll be in P. Pines this weekend, as well. I posted another thread trying to find out the same info and have yet to get any response from the south fla alumns. If nothing is organized down there, I was thinking of heading over to the Pines Ale House to watch the game. I'll be decked out in my Bulls gear.
  7. Calling out all So. Fla Alumns: I'll be down in the Ft. Lauderdale area for the Thanksgiving weekend. Will there be any organized watch parties at any bars/restaurants? Please let me know ASAP. Thanks
  8. ESPN needs to give up the goods. Televise the **** game! Who would we have to complain to at ESPN to get something done?
  9. Unfortunately, I'll be there only in spirit. Man, I'm hurting for some tailgating; my Saturdays are no longer the same.
  10. I was on pins and needles until the end of the game. For having 6 takeaways, we did not put the game away like a team on a mission. In the offseason I hope Leavitt addresses the OC situation and recruits some solid defensive tackles, defensive backs, and some QB's.
  11. Ok i was using that UM comparison as merely an analogy. The reason why I'm not harping on the defense is because they caused six turnovers. Sure USF's defensive line got manhandled by Rutgers offensive line, Rice had a field-day rushing, Moses looked like a blue chipper at WR, and the USF safeties were arguing with each other the whole game, BUT the defense stepped up and made plays when needed. The offensive game calling was conservative enough to let Rutgers back into the game. Compound that with the fact that we got two field goals blocked, and Brandon Baker looked terrible punting. The second half Rutgers had great field position, which let them back in the game. I'm pulling for a possible big east championship and/or a bowl berth. But today's game solidified my belief that Smith is not the OC that will take us anywhere.
  12. Let me guess, the people complaining about this are the same ones pissed about janet jackson's boob flopping out during the super bowl. : Sheriff I agree with you, people express themselves in different ways. Let them be.
  13. Those six turnovers were caused by our Defense. If I do have an issue with our defense, it would be giving up so many rushing yards to Ray Rice. I think the kid almost had 200 yards on the ground. Because of his rushing, Rutgers was able to take risks down the field. Conservative play calling almost did us in. PJ did have an accurate first half, 10 of 13 for 100+ yards, and the Rutgers DB's were giving our WR's a ton of cushion room. I was wondering why we didn't exploit that when Rutgers started stacking the box. We did not adjust our offensive game in the second half, plain and simple. With six turnovers going our favor, we should have blown out Rutgers. I hope we address the OC situation at the end of the season. It's still a great win nonetheless. ;D
  14. How does Rutgers turn the ball over SIX times and get so close to putting the game back into reach? Rod Smith is an idiot in control of what could be a pretty potent offense. Gino Toretta, Univ. of Miami QB in the early 90's, was a terrible QB but was surrounded by talented WR's. We have the same situation but Rod Smith is squandering our WR's talents with his horrible play calling.
  15. That was Bloomtown and crew representing at Rutgers!
  16. He looked a little heavy at Bulls Mania. I hope coach can get him back into playing shape ASAP. We'll need all the depth we can get coming off the bench.
  17. Realistically, I would be ecstatic if we even qualified for the Big East Tourney at MSG. I'm not too sure about you guys, but I surely don't see James Holmes starting at shooting guard. I'd rather see Dennis and Sills in the back court, with Buckley playing SF, Jones at C, and maybe Melvyn Richardson at PF.
  18. Isn't it entirely possible that C4 himself may not think he's ready to take over this offense this year? I've heard he feels more comfortable, at this juncture of his USF career, at the WR position. PJ is the best we have, deal with it. Let's modify our offensive scheme and work with the talent we have.
  19. So then why don't we work more on the option offense during practices? Doesn't this make more sense considering PJ's and the WR's size and speed? It will alleviate having the WR's having to catch a **** ball or having PJ throw the **** ball. It will put the ball in playmakers' hands. We've run a few option plays this season, but it has always given me a heart attack because the players don't look comfortable running it. If we focused on an option style offense more in practice I think we could train the players to run it effectively. What do you all think?
  20. Those commentators were so on Pitt's jock! I thought they were so biased towards the Panthers that I tuned them out after a while.
  21. I've resignated to the fact that PJ is the best that we have, and that he'll be starting. But, the lack of offensive adjustments last game really made it tough for me to get behind Smith as OC. Honestly, everyone and their mom knows that PJ isn't a finesse passer by any stretch, but he sure is an athletic QB. Why doesn't Smith try working on the option a little more so that it looks like the players know what they're doing when they attempt to execute it? My heart stops everytime I see us trying to execute an option play, it just doesn't look fluid. Hopefully, we can get good at it, so that we have a chance of bowling this season. If USF could run the option like Nebraska did in their hey-day, then I think we have a better chance with PJ at the helm. We must adjust
  22. I think a sloppy field may put us at an advantage. It will neutralize their passing game and force both teams to run.
  23. Our offensive passing game is very vanilla. I think it's that way due to the QB talent that we have at this point in time. Pitt covered our recievers well, the stacked the box to stop the run, and I didn't see any USF adjustment to address those issues. Oh yea and we turned the **** ball over 3 times, which resulted in 21 easy Pitt points. Nuff said
