  1. It's the same trend that I've been seeing in the games against Penn St., Miami, and now Pitt. We can't turn the ball over and expect to stay close in games. In the Pitt game, 3 turnovers accounted for 21 easy points by Pitt. Two of the turnovers were just stupid mistakes, i.e. Ponton fumbling after a great run and Denson throwing it right into the hands of a Pitt corner to give them the ball in the redzone. After a PJ run, he was gang tackled by 4 Pitt defenders and one of their helmets forced the ball out of PJ's possession; that one I give credit to Pitt's D. However, the point is that we can't play with the Big Dogs if we aren't going to play like Big Dogs. I'm tired of just hanging in there, we have to win these games and not shoot ourselves in the foot! OK, im off my soap box
  2. Actually, at this point I don't think an OCS is going to make our fans "better" from an "energy" standpoint either. Our fans are mostly alumni who attended USF when it had no football. They don't know how to get jazzed up about football, but we are all learning. It takes time to build tradition, and an on campus stadium is not going to be the "steroid" to inject our fans with "energy." I like Ray Jay, for now. We really need to focus on improving other things rather than even thinking about an OCS. All these analogies make me tired.
  3. I can't wait to see if our passing game makes him eat his words. USF's offense is getting too predictable; if you can stop Andre, then that's all there is to it. Some long bombs, which actually get caught, down the side lines should change that perception.
  4. The Bulls need to spend time on special teams. Poor decisions on special teams can easily lead to a loss. I agree with the focus. We're to a point in the season that you know what kind of production you're going to get out of your offense, it's not stellar but it's set. We're going to run the ball down people's throats. Until we get a more accurate QB the offense isn't going to change much.
  5. I think there were quite a bit of Miami-area USF alumni there as well. So taking into account the sales of USF block seating, students trekking from Tampa, and USF alumns i definitely think 6K is a very plausible number.
  6. I've combed through some of the threads on here and haven't found a final tally of USF attendees at Miami. I'm sure this is a pretty difficult stat to count since some people bought tix through the OB or didn't even wear USF gear. I think we had a good 6K USF fans there. Would anyone happen to know of an official count?
  7. Did anyone notice that UM's band was mic'ed during most of the game? You could really tell the difference as soon as there were about 3 minutes left in the game, and their mic was turned off. To the band people on here, isn't this against some unofficial code of band ethics? Bottom line, the HOT impressed me once again. They're really getting better and better as the season progresses. Best of all, the HOT did it without a microphone hookup.
  8. Actually, UM's fans weren't bad at all. At the end of the game the most I heard from their fans is, "We ain't Louisville." For the most part, in the section that I was sitting most Hurricane fans around me were either FIU or Miami Dade CC students. I only found one Hurricane student, surprise surprise.
  9. Is that person deserving of a beating by TPD or even private security for committing a misdemeanor? The excessive use of force by TPD and private TSA security should be the whole point of this thread. The illegality of trespassing is conceded due to the simple fact that you accept the terms of use at Ray Jay when you purchase your ticket (otherwise known as a license).
  10. You already have stated you weren't there. Sure a gauge for "excessive use of force" is potentially subjective. However, you've heard, ad nauseum, from people that were there. This was clearly uphauling to witness first-hand. Civil liberties are in place to keep authority from overstepping their bounds. What I witnessed that night was beyond an infringement of civil liberties, it was a humiliation of human dignity.
  11. Subject to arrest? Ok, i'll conciede that since a ticket to the game is technically a license. You can be kicked out Ray Jay for whatever reason because of this. However, subject to a beat-down, tazering, and clubbing? No. What part of excessive use of force can't you understand? Moreover, when did private TSA security get the authority to conduct beat-downs along with TPD? If we're so law abiding, then what about calling TSA security's actions by its proper legal term--battery.
  12. I got my tix up in the USF block section 21. $45 for nosebleeds was really steep. It'll be worth it to see USF bring it down to Miami
  13. Add X to the long line of QB's that were contemplating committing to USF after high school but thought they were going to green pastures else where. Cornelius Ingram, Brent Schaffer, Adrian McPherson, ahh the list can go on forever. We need kids that want to be Bulls from the get-go.
  14. Well, this "dumb yankee" still won't be convinced until the end of the season. Just being real about it. Keep taking it one game at a time. Loving some of that KFC--Kentucky Fried Cardinal. Do you think Sebastian the Ibis will taste just as good?
  15. Maybe he should change his name to MultiplePersonalityKnight or GreenburgKnight (sorry sheriff, I had to take a swipe) since he seems pretty good at talking outta both ends of his ass. What a loser!
  16. I'm sure some Tampa media outlet has pix of the brutality because I saw some photographers taking pictures as the security and TPD were going balistic on the students. I really hope this is not kept under wraps. This is something that needs to be exposed and addressed. I'm all for staying within the rules, but when you have this many people outraged about the display of barbarism by TSA/TPD there must be something wrong! TPD was out of hand. Private TSA security cracking skulls is against the law and is called battery.
  17. The season isn't over yet. Although Smith called an excellent game, I'm still not sure whether he's the kind of OC that can take us to the next level.
  18. The point of the matter is NOT tearing down goal posts or even the remote possibility of having an on campus stadium changing things, what IS the point is that amount of force used was uncalled for. Sure, protect the goal posts from being torn down. But when you allow private security, along with TPD, to beat the living crap out of people, it's uncalled for. Restrain and arrest, but don't viciously attack. If the students were more organized, they could have easily overwhelmed the field and made a bad situation turn really really ugly. I'm sure the students will remember this for a long time. I've emailed president genshaft and AD woolard. Hopefully, i'll have a response within the next week.
  19. I can understand protecting the goal posts, but what I saw tonight was uncalled for. This is the biggest upset in school history, the least they could have done was allow the students to storm the field. No, instead law enforcement chose to use their toys (i.e. tazers and clubs) on our students. Not a very smart move considering they were instigating the student section to turn into a rabid mob. I'm emailing TSA tommorrow because of the uphauling acts of both their security and the law enforcement.
  20. The keys to the game are ball control and flawless play. If we can move the sticks by running and keep the pressure off PJ, then I think we have a great chance as long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot (i.e. missed FG's and blocked Punts).
  21. How does a student join? Who do you contact? IS the SBC the same as the Bullies? Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I've had some students asking me about it and had no idea how to answer.
  22. You also have to realize that a lot of alumns went to a USF that was much different than what it is today. I'm not sure if they've been bitten by the "Bull Bug" much like some of the younger alumns have been. Older people don't do much cheering and screaming to begin with. While in Michigan, I got a chance to attend some Big 10 games and was surprised at how quiet some of the crowds were. Besides their student sections, you could almost hear a pin drop in other parts of their stadiums.
  23. Compared to where the HOT were last year, they are drastically improved this year. I'm all for a boxing fight between Knightro and Rocky at next year's halftime of USF/UCF. Does anyone know the student attendance numbers for the UCF/USF game?
