  1. Agree with all this. Nothing has compared to the boxes for getting the crowd up. Last night's intro was just boring. There was a glint of hope last year when they showed the players singing the fight song. HOT looked very confused. Before the team came on the field while they were playing The Bull, half of the band started to rotate to the south end zone during the second part while others just kept facing west. And please ditch the announcer except when they let the opponent know they are playing their fight song and when he asks people to stand for the alma mater. I love when we play the other team's fight song always a class act by major marching bands when the opponent band is not there. But as usual the other fans don't realize what's happening until it's almost over. I think last night there were maybe 5 people clapping along that knew what was happening. Anyhow, we keep telling people to get inside and be in their seats for the band to show support before kickoff but if last night is any indication, it's not worth missing one more tailgate beer.
  2. I haven't received a response from McGillis on this. Have you heard anything from anyone? By lobbying I mean suggesting. I haven't contacted anyone at USF. I assume they monitor this board or someone on here with inside contacts runs with it. Don't you think they would get at least 500 students/soccer fans to watch somewhere on campus and then head over to the soccer field to see our top 5 team?
  3. Ouch - Nole fans trash talking them and saying they should reverse their ACC commitment.
  4. Not sure about all the doom and gloom. I thought it was a typical first game against a FCS team. We always play down, weird time outs/clock management, refs getting their feet wet for the season, a couple amazing highlights, mostly lowlights, etc.
  5. Yes, on CBSSN. I'm lobbying for an on campus viewing party (Sun Dome, Baseball Field?) so we can just walk to the 7:30 soccer game.
  6. The UConn - UMass game was listed as being on the "Big East Network" and it was on BHSN locally. So BHSN is the local affiliate for the BEN, but they won't show USF games this year because of the Verizon sponsorship?? Help me understand this. http://espn.go.com/blog/bigeast/post/_/id/35756/big-east-predictions-week-1
  7. Drill down on the seat map at ticketmaster... http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0D0048DDCEE384A8?artistid=821761&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=8
  8. Sorry to digress from the UTC discussion, but... Hoping there is a watch party on campus for the Nevada game so that when it ends, it's an easy walk to the soccer stadium for the men's game at 7:30. Maybe in the dome? A/C, cold beer and drop the new scoreboard for level 1 viewing?
  9. I would think you could just pull into the lot 6 entrance off of Himes with your 6D pass.
  10. Is this good or bad news that ESPN has done this? Doesn't this hurt the BE in terms of the NBC bid now that they are publicly making moves away from the BE?
  11. Here you go just in case. An exceptional group this year. http://www.usf-sundolls.com/team.php
  12. Here's the site. http://www.gamedayguide.com/preferences/SOUTHFLORIDA.pl
  13. That is so sweet. Must have been a Navy home game if it's on CBS?
  14. What's with all the Thursday and Friday games shown only on ESPN3? Why move the game to a weekday if it's not going to be shown on TV? Confused.
  15. 46500 announced 39500 attendance The usual no shows for no name opponents and all those season tickets Noles bought will drag down attendance with lots of red seats open. Hope I'm wrong. Go Bulls!
  16. FSU season ticket buyers are unloading lower bowl tickets for this game at $3 each on stubhub... http://www.stubhub.com/south-florida-bulls-football-tickets/south-florida-vs-chattanooga-9-1-2012-4060857/
  17. So that's 10 of us - we've got the first row in the visitor section covered!
  18. I know we've been through this before, but we still have 5 weeks to kill. Would you rather see East-West divisions or non-geographic? When it's all said and done the travel is almost a wash. I would rather see non-geographic - National and American divisions or something like that. Put these every year cross-over game teams in different divisions: Boise-SDSU SMU-Houston USF-UCF Rutgers-UConn UL-Cincy Memphis-Temple
  19. Families are a big part of our fan base and those with kids involved with high school football are going to pick going there over going to ours .... especially when it's an opponent like UT-C. Very good point. I know my daughter will go to Plant-Jesuit instead of USF if they are both at the same time. That's 2 of my 4 tickets not being used.
  20. There's always 3 or 4 college games on that Sunday - USF vs. 1AA - I don't think the NCAA or ESPN will care.
  21. Move our game to Sunday night. It's a holiday Monday so I'm down with catching a high school game on Saturday and then USF on Sunday. It's not like we have to play on Saturday for tv - don't think USF-Chatt will lose out on a national audience by not playing on Saturday.
  22. Will be at Ball State game with relatives that went to BSU and now live in Indy. I'm wondering if there will even be 100 Bulls fans there?
