He tries to win he just has spent most of his life not being able to do it. There is always that hope that if Charlie ever started playing to win that it may happen at some point.

Could you imagine coaching against a team that lost there all star qb ( that was completely unheralded coming out of hs). Then getting dashed by a walk on rb and a freshman qb that’s played in one game (also not known to be above average) and then coming to the podium and saying the issue is a talent gap? I’m just dumbfounded. I thought I didn’t get as angry anymore but this **** is nonsense.

And he had to give up play calling for his own team, maybe that’s improvement over our current regime but we need to do better.

Trying to get him that first bowl game victory that has alluded him thus far in his coaching career?

It’s unfortunate. We always joked about the arena formerly known as the sun dome being on an Indian burial ground, maybe the whole athletics program is just cursed as the ball just never seems to bounce our way when it matters.

I asked him how quickly he planned on trying to get his old job back and I got an out of office that I felt was the perfect response.

I liked Charlie Strong. I thought he was a good hire and was only the second coach I liked from the beginning. I came to a conclusion at some point that he wasn’t as great as I hoped but he was a nice guy, a bargain and the odds of us getting someone better that wouldn’t bolt immediately wasn’t that strong so maybe we retool some coordinators and things will be okay for a while. The press conferences this week and the playcalling yesterday has completely lost me. If the playcalling wasn’t exactly what he wanted and appreciated it would have changed on some of the crucial plays but as evidenced by his press conference he thinks that’s the right direction and it’s the player’s fault that they aren’t a Big Ten O-line. His responses to competing against UCF and how he views his players and our university are horribly telling and I don’t see how any player, fan or administrator can stand with him anymore. He managed to alienate everyone in every way possible in a week. I was wrong about CCS and many of you were right, we need to mitigate our losses and move on.

I was just thinking to myself about how at some point this season the website that ranks coaches hot seats has CCS as the third coolest seat in the nation, I can’t imagine it’s quite that comfy now.

You have to run the spread and if you say power anything you are instantly fired with zero buyout. Also you have to believe in passing opening up running lanes and not the reverse.

We added a play? I guess everyone was right we did finally open up the playbook.

If only our play calling could be that creative.

He seems to have changed his mind, now he is going with we suck and we were lucky to have won 7 games.

Once we finally decide if they are supposed to be bigger or smaller I’m sure we will start developing everything else.

Well there coach just said they all suck and need to be replaced and he is starting to look for their replacements on Monday, I have to assume these considerations probably stem from that. Especially if you consider how much we have seen any of them develop this season, another year of this tutelage probably isn’t going to make much difference.

Obviously moving on is not my forte...
