Someone told me good morning this morning and it triggered me. I only have two speeds sleeping and triggered.

Most of our football lives has been without them and we seemed to be doing just fine while they were in there rightful place in Conference USA 2.0. And as there is only one game against them in our top 15 home attended games I would argue the fan interest isn’t there quite like a handful of people on the internet would like to pretend.

But who has ever expressed interest in buying a USF/UCF combo pack? Is there a groupon? Did they get a Black Friday special?

Money. The people paying it out said they will give more of it not to add the likes of us, if ever a time comes where we make a conference more money for it’s current members they willl welcome us with open arms.

I can count the number of UCF fans that I have as friends on Shaquill Griffin’s left fingers.

There isn’t one argument in the entire article that gives a single reason why we would need each other. He actually makes an argument why keeping it close would be better for both teams than beating the breaks off of one another, we aren’t a team, there is no package deal and it’s impossible for one or any amount of games to make the AAC a nationally relevant conference. The article is a dumb rehashing of dumb arguments made by dumb people that have ignored all reality of the situation throughout the years, this “article” should be a message board posting. I liked him better when he was singing it’s not unusual.

So every NFL team has fought their city to try to force them to own the stadium because ownership of a stadium is inherently good? Stadiums are expensive, they have a short shelf life for that expense, they have expensive upkeep and they only go down in value while having no one in the market to buy them. Stadiums are bad business it’s really not a question.

I actually liked conference USA for the year we were in it, the AAC dreams of being that good of a conference.

Just a little point of fact. Renting a stadium is preferable over owning a stadium whenever you can make that happen. No one wants to own a stadium since it’s a depreciating asset that can’t be made liquid since it by itself has little value and therefore pretty much no one willing to buy it. There is a reason the Bucs lease Ray Jay and don’t own it and pretty much any NFL team that’s able to make that happen tries to. The problem isn’t ownership vs renting because absolutely no one wants to own a stadium it’s the lack of favorable situations in our rental ie it’s a bit far, it doesn’t look like it has anything to do with us and the Bucs have a sweetheart deal that comes at our expense. Stadium ownership however isn’t an inherent good if anything it’s typically seen as inherently bad and something most businesses would avoid if they can get anyone else to be dumb enough to do it.

I am very much a USF alumnus, so I don’t know where you got that idea from. My feelings come from this being the worst g-d forsaken conference that we have ever had the misfortune of being in. I understand that this is confusing to you since this is the best conference you have ever been in but to us and the vast majority of the world the AAC is a steaming pile of crap that no one cares about or dreams of winning. Kids don’t grow up dreaming about being AAC champions they don’t even know what the AAC is.
