    I feel this way about every AAC team sans UCONN and Cincinnati. The only reason I am more vocal about this specific dreck is because it’s the only one some of our fanbase sadly tries to pair up with and believes we are somehow packaged with.

    Playing them has never and will never bring anything of value to our lives because they are not valuable.

    Most of the people that thought playing them was a good idea are gone, most of the people that thought it was a horrible idea and bad for our program are still here. Kind of like everyone that wanted CJL managed to disappear while those that knew it meant eternal damnation are stil here. Playing UCF was in fact not in our best interest, it could not be more clear. That’s not arrogant that’s common sense.

    You left off the percentage that apparently thinks it would be better for the conference and then in turn some how better for us...

    In the G5 you can easily win your division and then win your conference but still play in the same bowl in Birmingham Alabama. If winning the AAC didn’t come with a NY6 bowl and victory it would have exactly zero value to me.

    What does overall conference help do for us as an individual program? This isn’t a group effort, we aren’t stronger together, we aren’t going anywhere as a team and for us to be successful we need everyone else to fail. Football is a zero sum game.

    But then couldn’t get the three left to turn down a $10 contract not to add them? That’s adorable.

    P6 is not a sustainable model for Football, you can’t try to compete with the P5 while operating on a G5 budget. We get 1/10 the income to be the 6th best conference making us the top of the bottom and that’s a bad place to be in any business as you are over spending trying to get over that hump but the money just doesn’t make it possible in the long run.

    I try to be subtle about it but sometimes I inadvertently let the cat out of the bag.

    I see no difference between the programs and dream of a day when we wouldn’t have to associate with either but in the meantime I put no more weight on playing or beating either of them as we have already lost by having to play them.

    I hope when we win the AAC that it’s everything that you dream it will be, my only dream is to get out of the AAC before it totally destroys our program.
