  1. It wasn’t bad enough for UCF to become our rival now we are down to Stetson?
  2. You know what amazes me? That we are still amazed. It’s like going to a Coke machine everyday, putting in whatever they cost now, picking a coke, getting a coke and being amazed everyday. This is what we do it’s who we are, we should embrace the suck.
  3. There are many versions of the story, many of which don’t seem too much like lying. I know it’s shocking but people remember events completely differently and often times completely wrong so it’s not unreasonable for accounts to differ which is why eyewitness testimony is notoriously bad and how dna evidence has led to so many people that were sure being proven wrong. Also doesn’t help that the star victims father ended up being a lying fraudster and the kid ended up being quite the piece of work too (that sadly will never be able to remember things differently), history hasn’t exactly gone the way of the anti-CJL crowd but sadly none seem to be able to look back with 20/20 vision. I’m sorry about you and your friend and the disillusionment it has caused you. CJL didn’t hurt you or your friend and he hasn’t proven to be a violent sociopath as he has done quite well in his time away from us, I wish we had fared so well.
  4. I’m not worried about the lie that didn’t lead to anyone getting fired or your personal experience. I’m asking very nicely and patiently for roughly the fourth time what was the lie CJL told that you believe merited instant termination?
  5. So what was the egregious lie that merited USF to take action this time? As you freely admitted lying at USF is not an automatic grounds for termination. So what was this bombastic lie that in and of itself could not be handled any other way than by termination?
  6. So what lie specifically merited termination? And do you believe USF has fired any and all people caught lying at work? Do you think every employer's only recourse to lying is termination? If some donors were not vocal about "plateauing" do you believe we would have found CJL guilty of egregious lying that merited termination? Is OSU less of an institution of integrity because they found Brett's smear job of Meyer to only merit 3 games worth of suspension? CJL wasn't fired for lying, it was an investigation in search of a reason because some people thought we could do better and they have been proven wrong time and time again. Pretending that the firing was on virtuous grounds is just simply disingenuous.
  7. I think most everyone would agree that losing the BCS status and being relegated to the minor leagues of the AAC is the single worst thing that has happened to our program. The reasons it may appear that some think it was CJL's dismissal are as follows: 1) it came first so people see it as the beginning of what eventually followed (even if there is little to no chance that it would have made a difference). 2) it was entirely self inflicted and unnecessary where as if we were asked would we like to stay in the big leagues there is probably at least a 50% chance Doug and Judy would have said yes, but unfortunately no one asked so we may never know 3) there are only about three people in the world that try to pretend they like the AAC over the Big East where as there are a sizable number of vocal people that try to pretend some of the coaches that followed CJL were somehow better despite any and all evidence to the contrary 4) the Big East is dead and its actually impossible to go back where as CJL is just highly improbable 5) its probably the most interesting debate we have to talk about and its a polarizing subject for whatever reason
  8. I don’t know how I can dispute such a well reasoned retort.
  9. I’m just glad he calls himself gator instead of @Who'sYourData? because his data seems to come from his ass
  10. And here all this time I thought CJL was 95-57 (.625) while everyone else was 58-53 (.524) with the deaparted being .432 and .490, luckily Strong is holding them up with a falling .708 and Weist has what will always be a record batting a perfect . Now let’s dig into quality wins, quality of opponents, program building, community support and bowl games and victories....
  11. Just the greatest we have had by leaps and bounds as proven by literally any measurable you would like to compare. The what aboutism doesn’t change the fact that even if you don’t like something about his record it’s worlds better than the successors.
  12. Even if the “review” was a real thing (it’s not) it would still just be another feasibility study. When have you ever heard of a some long exhausting comprehensive review of entire football programs that led to anything fruitful? If the AD needs to get involved it’s fire the coach and the new coach brings in his people and if they AD doesn’t need to get involved than the head coach fires the non preformed on his staff. This exercise should it be a real thing is a stupid waste of time by an institution he’ll bent on having stupid wastes of time. If there is anything that merits review it’s the idea that we should always be reviewing instead of doing. Does anyone honestly believe any issue stems from non contracted employees that lack decision making power? The whole idea is laughable.
  13. Even in hand picking sub records to focus on that’s still better than the successors
  14. You don’t remember who came before him? I guess I should proof read some of my rants. Successors.
  15. Also this doesn’t really fit here but I’ve passed my quota and I am contractually obligated to point out the AAC sucks.
  16. CJL’s predecessors have been much closer to 6-6 than 9 and anything
  17. I think most people would go with it having way more to do with mitigating factors than coaching success as he has seemed to do just fine for himself every where he has landed.
  18. That his record was night and day better than every Coach other than Strong ( and Strong seems to be trending down) while he competed in conferences that were night and day better than our current one would seem to be strong enough trends to infer that things would have remained better had we stayed the course. There isn’t a single measurable where CJL doesn’t stack up amazingly better than the also rans that followed him a fact that gets glosses over by everyone that tries to make an argument against him. Alsways it’s what aboutism without ever addressing that every single what about they complain about CJL he out preforms CSH, CWT and CCS both individually and collectively.
  19. Not today because it was Florida freezing at a blustery 60 degrees, people had on their boots and long jackets
  20. 8-5 in where we were is like 12-0 with where we are. The trajectories are absolute inverses while CJL was here we were always on an upward trajectory and since he has been gone we have been on a downward trajectory. We had never had a three win season, never had a 2 win season, never lost to an FCS team, never lost to UCF, never lost to a non major Florida school and never been in a conference this G-d forsakenly bad. To compare then to now and act like it’s the same can’t be an honest take it’s apples to oranges (which are both fruit so you can compare them some but they aren’t the same).
  21. Well we would bring back a sports almanac with us and use the bets to fund a major program with major facilities. Yes there is no chance of a USF/CJL reunion and if it did happen it would probably be a more nostalgic change than substantive one.
  22. I am arguing we get some platonium from Lybians, get a DeLorean, install a flux capacitor, get it to 1.21 gigawatts of electricity, have the DeLorean travel 88 miles per hour, ignore the space time continuum and go back and stop that fateful event that has led to the dumpster fire that mostly became our program. If we can’t do that would I get a kick out of having CJL back for a few years for old time sake? Sure. Do I think it would cure all of our ails and be the same again? Probably not.
  23. That everyone is being evaluated? Pretty sure that happens everywhere at all times. That unnamed changes are coming at an unnamed time? Pretty sure that's called cold reading and its done by every charlatan in every seedy profession. Why am I such an *******? Mom? Is that you?
