  1. That his record was night and day better than every Coach other than Strong ( and Strong seems to be trending down) while he competed in conferences that were night and day better than our current one would seem to be strong enough trends to infer that things would have remained better had we stayed the course. There isn’t a single measurable where CJL doesn’t stack up amazingly better than the also rans that followed him a fact that gets glosses over by everyone that tries to make an argument against him. Alsways it’s what aboutism without ever addressing that every single what about they complain about CJL he out preforms CSH, CWT and CCS both individually and collectively.
  2. Not today because it was Florida freezing at a blustery 60 degrees, people had on their boots and long jackets
  3. 8-5 in where we were is like 12-0 with where we are. The trajectories are absolute inverses while CJL was here we were always on an upward trajectory and since he has been gone we have been on a downward trajectory. We had never had a three win season, never had a 2 win season, never lost to an FCS team, never lost to UCF, never lost to a non major Florida school and never been in a conference this G-d forsakenly bad. To compare then to now and act like it’s the same can’t be an honest take it’s apples to oranges (which are both fruit so you can compare them some but they aren’t the same).
  4. Well we would bring back a sports almanac with us and use the bets to fund a major program with major facilities. Yes there is no chance of a USF/CJL reunion and if it did happen it would probably be a more nostalgic change than substantive one.
  5. I am arguing we get some platonium from Lybians, get a DeLorean, install a flux capacitor, get it to 1.21 gigawatts of electricity, have the DeLorean travel 88 miles per hour, ignore the space time continuum and go back and stop that fateful event that has led to the dumpster fire that mostly became our program. If we can’t do that would I get a kick out of having CJL back for a few years for old time sake? Sure. Do I think it would cure all of our ails and be the same again? Probably not.
  6. That everyone is being evaluated? Pretty sure that happens everywhere at all times. That unnamed changes are coming at an unnamed time? Pretty sure that's called cold reading and its done by every charlatan in every seedy profession. Why am I such an *******? Mom? Is that you?
  7. I don’t think we were ever trying to win on offensive prowess. CJL was a defensive guy first and foremost maybe that’s why some on here can’t appreciate what all he accomplished.
  8. You don’t buy what he is saying? But he didn’t say anything.
  9. The funny thing is the offense we are trying to run now is what we always had trouble defending back then. We could shut down pretty much anyone but try to run between the tackles on us and we just did not have the size and power to stop it (or many times even slow it down).
  10. That's just an absurd position that has no foundation in what has actually happened in the USF program or any program outside of it.
  11. What held back UCF for twenty something years? How about FAU? FIU? Pretty much every single coach all time ever that never accomplished as much as Leavitt starting from the ground floor and assending to the penthouse in under a decade. It’s truly remarkable and it’s sad that anyone can dare to not acknowledge it.
  12. I really thought with all of the hype this was going to be the first time the daily stampede finally brought the substance.
  13. Especially the part where’s he said bingo to @puc86; that guy gets it.
  14. Idk there is a chance the entire problem is noncontract employees with zero decision making power as well as the interns.
  15. CWT has a sub .500 record while not winning a single bowl game, losing our only time to an FCS team, owning the record for our worst season and competing in the AAC, there really isn’t a contest.
  16. I do not think anyone honestly believes that he will come back or that if by some miracle he did that things would instantly change. I think what some of us believe is that it was by far the most magical time to be a Bulls fan and that some members of our fanbase and administration sold that success for magic beans that never materialized. I have no doubt that our program would be in a better place had we stuck with CJL than taking the perilous course that we did and I only have to look at any form of data between him and his predecessors in order to prove it (and that doesn’t even account for the zeitgeist shift that is palpable).
  17. There is just no way you honestly believe teams were called up to bigger leagues to be replaced by better bottom feeders from lower conferences. Louisville was something like number 6 in the nation while we were there, something CUSA hasn’t seen since and will never see again. Also TCU during our first year in CUSA was pretty stout.
  18. You don’t buy that TCU and Louisville were better than those that replaced them? There is just no way you believe that. One day if I am bored I will find you some links on the belief we were redshirting and grey shirting more in 2004 in preparation for moving into the Big East.
  19. 5 losses are five losses what part of the schedule they came in is equally irrelevant except that it fits your argument better than the in a row distinction.
