  1. It's interesting to read different articles by sports outlets when they talk about USF. Many show some build-up and a touch of hype but then..add disclaimers/cautionary sentences in case we tank. Obviously, the sports world expects USF to be better this season..year 3. Oddly, a lot of their substance is kinda like you see on here, we should be better-we need to be better-we have a lot of positives but..will we be better?? One day soon, I'm hoping that we will once again be talking/expecting to project what bowl we will be going to even before the season begins..Like the Old Days of USF when we expected 7-8-10 wins w/o even playing the first game.

  2. Comes down to Wins and Losses that's it. No point having a football program in D-1 that doesn't have the desire to win and dominate in its conference. Coach can be a wonderful guy who everyone loves and names their kids after but, Winning is the point of the competition. Of course, there are other facets that go with it. Education, Character Building, etc. You hire a guy to coach/build your program and you pay them millions of dollars so...they have to Win. We have watched sadly as 3 teams in our conference took this Winning thing seriously and Presto! They are being rewarded.

    Go BULLS !!!

Yep, very tough to start from scratch so have to give it to CJL. I'll take CJS 2nd even over WT. I base that one a guy who is trying to build a program compared to a guy that was building a resume and chasing the money. Old WT may wonder sometimes if he had stayed at USF just how good would we have gotten?? A Conf Championship? Be heading to the B12??  Oh well-sigh. As Popeye would say: "We is what we is...."

You would be totally wrong in thinking that. He was hoping for this to be a lifelong gig. He's actually a hard working guy with a love for the offensive side of the ball. I'm done defending him on here but other than here he's been a fairly successful coach.

?? Amazing how folks like to tell others they are "wrong". You and he may have been best buddies but I was referring to his value and poor results at USF. Your last sentence would align with my "correct" statement. As for the personal take ironically, we had a cottage on a lake in NC. Our place was around the point from the Holtz place(they sold it when he took USF job). A number of times we would be around that way in the boat/kayak and say hello to them. The entire family seemed very friendly/nice. See, we agree on the personalized portion but, he didnt build a consistent winner at USF. I too find it quite odd (maybe even telling) that he succeeded at ECU, LaTech and now the USFL but not at USF--odd indeed.

Well, a football field is 360 feet x 160 feet... which is 57,600 square feet... or 1 1/3rd acres.  Factor in space around the field, and the building is likely more than 1 1/2 acres in coverage.

Good. I was close-had it been horseshoes I would have had a point however, yours was a ringer.   Any of the old boys up in NC ever tell you that you were "one calculating sumagun"? **(I was going to say sumbitch but I was trying to keep a G rating)

  7. The overhead pics really depict how large this building really is compared to the vehicles parked nearby. Don't know the overall dimensions (comparing to adjacent fields) of the roof area but it probably works out to around 25-30000 sq ft. Probably around a 1/2-3/4 of an acre of roofing needed-amazing when you think about the amount of materials that go into a project like this. Plus, prices are so high right now.  It's looking good.

I clicked all the way through and didnt see any donate button or paypal instructions or anything like that. Perhaps I am slow.

You are not alone--I too am slowww...but, brad set me straight. Maybe he will also take pity on you and tell you about the "teasers"...🤫  If he confuses me one more time I'm calling that elder abuse hotline and turning him in..

    You probably saw this thread:

    Destructive NIL

Schools like ASU are founding multi-million dollar NIL entities to entice recruits to visit and sign and existing players to stay.  It's all stupid and ruinous to college athletics.  But there is no leader anymore.  It's a free for all.

Hadn't seen that one. College sports/athletes and money-who would have thought that might not go well? What a wonderful recruiting tool they can now manipulate.

  10. I was listening to espn radio the other day they were talking about the NIL and what big boosters were doing. A car dealer (think Tx?) put players on the payroll. These guys were saying the NCAA is going to form a committee start to look into the concept and see if it could be controlled better than-not controlled at all. This NIL has the sound of something nice for the players, but it could be a real cluster

You know there is a problem if these two are going at it publicly like this.

I can't see this being a bad thing for USF, so it will be fun to sit back and see how it plays out.

    As they eat their own.........

  12. Happy Bday to these Young'uns. I've got USF t-shirts older than these guys. Hobbs 280lb D-man plus he runs the ball?? Appears we may have us a "FRIDGE" of our very own. Kickers? ever wonder about them after their kicking days are over..? What does a person do that has one huge leg and one regular leg in life??
