He should have followed Petersen’s model when he coached Boise.
Yeah but..once the fsu job reared its head he was packing his bags and headed back to florida for his "dream job" and payday.

it all started when leavitt chose not to play them anymore
that could have been a remark that prompted them to start re-think their football program.

CWT got the $$ and prob lots of it to boot. But-he failed at the game he supposedly loved. This is one of those shoulda woulda coulda moments: had he stayed at USF 5-6 years and built us into a winner or a conf championship then he could have taken the big money and tried the P5. Oh well...that thought was an exercise in futility...

Whatever our identity is, let’s go out there, punch BYU in the mouth, play some defense, and turn some heads!
YEAH!! what you said Knute....!! That even fired me up. However, BYU being Mormon possibly you are being a tad bit harsh?? Maybe just a Will Sucker Slap??

With the extension a done deal and a trickle of players starting to choose escape there might be this: MK goes out and shops a co-HC with some chops. First year would be pricey of course but you bring in someone who could take over the following year-depending. If CG doesn't buy into it then...the axe. Somebody has got to come into this program that can actually build a winner, an offense, a recruiter. CG is starting to remind me of holtz. I think he enjoyed living in the Tampa area boating, fishing, golfing and the football team was secondary.

His success and has far outweighed all four coaches failures. Taggart is the only one debatable here but he has looked terrible every job since then.
Yeah, CWT could have enjoyed building USF into a dynamo if his ego lust and money hungry personality didnt get the best of him. Now? He may have some good teams at a lower level but the P5 folks may keep him at arms length since he flamed twice. Obviously his making a shot at our HC opening after CS indicated that he would like to come back but...........when you cross bridges dont start playing with matches

I've been trying to pay close attention to what his plan is and there really hasn't been a ton of information. Maybe that is planned?
It appears that we'll have a similar offense, but with more variation of sets.
In the article re: why no stream of the scrimmage next week, CJS actually said it was so byu had no idea of the schemes or the new players..honest it did. There's some double secret **** going on here..

What exactly do you expect things to come back to? Unfortunately CJS’ established identity is bs.
And, he was on Identity...how very strange??

Only those who are satisfied with mediocrity are sad that Leavitt is gone.
Actually, "mediocrity" with flashes of the "old Brilliance" looks pretty darn good right now while we dwell in the cellar. At the least, we had some recognition and were included in the conversations. The repetitive bowl games weren't too bad either. There's an argument on both sides of the CJL years, successes and failures.

Couldn't keep one of his big-time recruits. Very bad sign.

Yep, we use to mock ucf and then steamroll them on the field but..they surpassed us and are getting rewarded for their accomplishments/successes. It's a tough pill to swallow for sure. I would hope (there I go again with the Hope thing) that we are much improved this season and on the right track to excel. If we put a whooping on ucf this year at the least..that would be a sign of achievement for USF. Sure, would be nice to be a Winner again.

We have new variables/unknowns again this year that make for an interesting "Let's See" mode. New OC and new DC. I like CShp aggressive style. Dont know much about CTrk. Same QB's ? They better be much improved over last year especially if all other facets are improved. We appear to have talent. This is just another season of..wait and see for me. It would be great to be heading into the season with bowl expectations, some national chatter or challenging for the Conf title but...It's just Let's See for Me

I like this experiment. 6'-8", 265lbs could be interesting. Receiver? send to sideline have him just stand there toss it high so Dbacks cant get it. if he has good arm strength/moves try as an edge rusher just watch his knees/ankles. kick blocker concept is interesting too. If this works out, maybe add baseball in too and let him do some pitching-Dominican pitchers are normally very good. Track?? Hmmm???

Would appear Memphis has a track record of NCAA violations over the years. There is a segment of their fans/ supporters that have been working to build an image and structure so they will be considered for future conference expansion. hardaway being an ex-pro prob thought paying a mom so her kid would go to his school was ok..kinda like a free agent he was giving them a signing bonus--"What you cant pay the players??" This is not going to help their recent polishing efforts. The dark cloud of doom is now over Memphis.

Im a Saints fan and would love to get one or both on my team especially since Kamara has a bunch of legal drama. Hell we almost got MVP b4 the Chiefs outbidded us. Mack and DJ are probably the most slept on RBs in the NFL.
Saw marquis is going to the Chiefs

He barely played last year. That is a lot of body preservation and strenthening. The Eagles spread their offense out to many players. He will be ok.
Lordy, you went to the way back machine to get that one 10/21. By now Mack has probably healed and had 2 kids and 3 new cars. Prob is, he's a year and a half older too. I'm sure he has healed and is still a quality RB for some team. In a pretend world, it would be nice to see MM and DJ on the Bucs.

That successful season was his second year and all of the players CBG inherited were gone, all two of them.
McCreary leaving is disappointing and not unexpected but if it's the beginning of another mass exodus hopefully the next coach is the kind that players will want to play for no matter the circumstances. Since Stan was fired the numbers of players bailing on the program seems surprisingly large and that's looking at it from the pre-Covid angle ....... or that may be just me looking at it in a vacuum.
Oh ****!! A Fact Checker.....Oh well, I was close BG was the coach and they did play basketball. Yep, the revolving door is a concern. I hate to say anything more because I will probably be wrong-Again!! I could never live with that....Say, were you ever a nun at a Catholic school??

This team is constantly in rotation. Batch of new guys in and a batch out. Yes, the portal helps players move around to try diff schools see if they fit better but....if a program is successful it seems players would be more interested in staying. Of course, some players will never be happy wherever they go. Problem is, I think the one successful season that this team has had was with players that CG inherited. Watching this team from one year to the next they dont seem to improve.

Knute as in Rockne...your comments and enthusiasm was so contagious/motivating, I wanted to go out and kick some ass...I'd have to use my right leg since the left has a fake hip....I find it hard to believe that a quiet, refined, articulate, focused individual like yourself would ever attempt to start a riot during a football game..
