Nice, you guys should set up shop at the Alamo and charge admission by telling stories 😀

Ha! Hmm? That didnt work out very well kinda like our last season...Mex 1--Tx Patriots 0

Couple years ago, he was leaving to do his cross country vanventure (my son not bowie) I got him a Bowie survival knife. That way he can be on (un)equal ground with the grizzlies. One of his pics. You look at bear-bear looks at you....I now OT OT

So was his brother David 😀

    ArArArArrrrrrrrrrrr....I get it-Sadly, I get it. Shame.

Here's a useless tidbit you never knew or wanted to know......My sons mom had some Indian (or Native American for those of you keeping score) blood in her ancestry which was connected to Jim Bowie. Better file that you might get asked that when you're on Jeopardy. Ok, tidbit is over.

Absolutely spot on. We tend to look at the recruiting advantage which will be significant, but the community bond will be huge. Of course their are logistics to work out but the issues with Greeks more than likely disappears, alumni will be visiting the campus, more on campus activities, etc. I would not be surprised if the endowment for USF increases as well.

Students won't pay $15 each way for an uber to a game when the team sucks. Students won't volunteer to be a DD and drive to a game when the team sucks.

With an on campus stadium there will be some huge student tailgates/parties around campus and just off campus that students can walk to. Even if the team sucks and they have no interest in football on campus gamedays will be a part of the college experience. The idea is some of these kids have so much fun it inspires a bit of school pride and they keep coming back as alumni. Thats what the 200 million dollar investment is for

OCS does add a bond among the fans, students, alumni. If it is done right the pre-game festivities can create a USF community bond. Some of the away games we have been to, it's been pretty impressive watching their fans and the hoot they are having. You go by and wonder, will USF ever have anything like that especially, in my lifetime? The investment in the OCS is one that should give back to and strengthen the USF community for untold years to come.

BYU might also be thinking “not these guys again” and come out flat. Get off to a good start and punch them quickly.

yes, they will be coming down from the mountains to descend upon the infidles...but, maybe we will have a strategy to thwart that attack................thought you might like a little drama. i could have the byu guys mixed up with univ of the middle east??

Yup. Our FBS openers the past few years have been so bad I would just not like to feel like its a lost season right when it starts. A game where we never fall behind by more than 2 scores, the defense holds them below 30, and we lose like 28-24 while disappointing would be a sign we took a big step forward.

    2021: 45-0 vs NC State

    2020: 52-0 vs Notre Dame

    2019: 49-0 vs Wisconsin

Beat BYU once at home so...do it again. They are beatable. Those 3 teams you mentioned are all a step up from BYU.

This is right on. You never know what you’re going to get with a new hire on this level (see the knucklehead we hired last time), but this will be as close as we get. I especially like that she already has the political connections as well. I think we’re going to need those with any infrastructure improvements in the coming years.

Yep. She is in place, local and knows exactly what USF needs and most importantly, she is one of us.

  8. Complaints? She was appointed in Aug21 and it is now Feb 22 let's see, oh yeah 6 months. The athletics moves were on MK that's why he gets paid what he does. People seem to like this woman and think she can do the job. She is an Alumnus-finally! Somebody that has a stake<vested interest> in the success of this school/programs/athletics besides a $$paycheck and a resume builder. They hired a PC-Woke Ca guy last time and that went dandy. He had to retire early and rest up from the tough job. Let's maintain some continuity for 3-5 years and see if it actually matters. She's got my Vote if I had one.

I think, to some degree, the brand of Miami recruits itself a bit better than our brand. Also, who gives a **** where he coaches? Having no respect for a man when he wants to work and get paid?

At least as a LB coach only minimal damage will be inflicted on Miami, as opposed to the entire team.

The "no respect" part has everything to do CS actions/inactions and, I dont give a **** attitude at USF. It has no reference or inference to a guy working or wanting to get paid. That would be a bit of a stretch to create that negative from my comment and not a valid point.

You are old, don’t even remember Sinatra, had to google “that’s life”, thought you were referring to Frank Gallagher in Shameless.

Yes "Old" about covers it. Older than I ever thought I would be=Amazing. Didnt know Sinatra? In that case I wont even toss out the Rat Pack...Young'uns?? What are we going to do with you? Guess I'll have to keep this historical stuff up so I can broaden your horizons. 👴

Lacked one since Flowers.  It's why this program is so cyclical then add bad coaching and things get really ugly.

Really hope McClain improves tremendously from freshmen year to sophomore year....this seasons success pretty much comes down to that the most.

Yep, hopefully Somebody-Anybody will step up and excel at the QB position. This season should be the season for a Bowl Game..no less. It's beyond time.

My ass has been scoped but thanks for the reminder anyways.  We are all eventually simply dust in the wind so enjoy the ride while you still can.  I have 3 vacations in the next 6 months, life is good for now and that is all you can hope for.  Thanks for getting philosophical, didn’t realize you were such a hell raiser.

Yes, Life is good. Lots of changes some strange along the way but, it's been a hell of a ride. Vacations are good-time to reboot. "Hell raiser"?? Ha!! I did have my moments an thankfully, an abundance of great experiences. Of course, some of it sucked but then, as old Frank use to say, "That's Life"

CJS was actually all in on Cade.

Short Lived interest. As many pointed out, he had a tough NC State game. Later, tough to come in as the back-up. Say what you want it isn't the same game prep. As we all know, the O line broke down on everyone except for a few bright moments. You have an offense for a pocket passer or a very mobile QB it was tough to figure out what exactly we had. Hopefully(yet again), we will have an offense that suits are QB's ability. We need a Stud. Teams that excel have a QB that is a great performer. We are waiting for that Stud.

He is only a year or two older than me so I take offense with the age, think he is like 54 or so.  Either way I had to do a similar dance at work at it was similar In difficulty and length was a tad shorter and I give him two thumbs up. You don’t learn all of those moves overnight, lots of practice.  I will boo him for the CBG extension, scratch my head on the CJS extension but give him kudos on the dance, a little stiff but us older white guys never really could dance that well anyways.

54....The mid 50's....Don't take offense with any age reference but, it's time for you to have a Colonoscopy. Enjoy the mid years. Prob in the late 50's early 60's you'll need to start thinking about the big V pills. And remember, the 50's are the edgy years for Stroke and Heart Attack sooooooo......Dance Brother-Dance while you still can hopefully, you wont get Dance Fever the new viral silent killer...LIV, the age looks a lot better in Roman Numerals and it says-----Live.    Ah the 50's. I lived pretty large in that decade. Wine(also rum, ale, brandy),Women(hmmm) and Song(not so much singing as listening)..Ok, I've messed with you about all I can on this "age offense thing".

<Enjoy-It's only Life so no need to get serious about it.>  On the coaches contracts?? Naw, I got nothing
