  1. It's interesting if not intriguing. This guy has a pretty impressive resume especially last season he and Baylor did it all. Odd his coach flips from starting star QB that took him through a winning season and moves him to #2 and then invites him to transfer??? There has to be more to the story. Would be hard to believe that he transfers here to compete with our existing QB's. Makes you wonder if somebody will bail soon. Marsh stepped out of the door recently then stepped back in. McC might be expecting the job. Bohanan appears to have the tools/experience to ratchet up our QB production. This is going to be very very interesting.

Cade Fortin is on track to be the next former Bulls QB to become an NFL draft pick.

    :roflmao:

Ha! Bet you'd **** if that actually happened. This board would be serving you up some of that good old partridge (since crow isn't allowed). I liked Fortin thought he would show better but he was also trying to play with a porous O line and our offensive system was actually quite offensive...

  3. ?? Accuracy, Grammatical constraints along with gauging comedic value/content are all just wonderful. In fact, I think a new "bureau" has just been established to do that in the US. Just wonderful. TBP needs comment/structure policing to keep everyone in line. Sometimes these Bull's fans get a bit frisky and carried away with their personal enthusiasm levels. Wonderful ideas just wonderful.

This board could use some really good topical discussion - let's focus on meaningful conversation.

Personally, I would rather see some lighthearted nonsense along with some interesting info and dialogue. There are the times when subject matter is exhausted, so a little fun seems like a good thing. Some Esprit de Corps is a good thing too. TBP unlike some of the other social nitwit sites out there shouldn't have any personal attacks. There are a number of folks on here that like to flex their armchair muscles and go after others. Most would never do it in person since they would prob be on their ass. I think that behavior is out of place on TBP (my opinion). If the anal-retentive/rude stuff is the name of the game, then a few will try to dominate the majority-too bad. Seems to be going around lately. I don't dish **** to others, but I don't take any **** either. Were all USF grads that's supposed to be the common bond.

I critique and that is what I do, the take was ass and I opined.  If you don’t like my assessment then move along, I provide a valuable service by holding the board to a high level and will not be cancelled by a poster of inferior literacy skills.

I was simply critiquing your attempt at comedy?  Did not understand the dollar observation at all?  Could you clarify?  I did not mean to offend you on calling it a rant, how would you describe your post?  All of us post stuff and sometimes it falls flat, IMO yours fell flat on this occasion and I was simply pointing it out, however you are still my boy Blue.

Oh come on dont be a "I'm a critique ****". This bs doesn't need clarification-it was what it was. If you dont get it or dont like it? just move on. It wasn't meant to have literary importance. A spoof. "Fall flat" I care not. Just flow with it. It means nothing.

Romney (QB) left the team in Feb?  A very disjointed post, I appreciate your enthusiasm but have no idea the context of this rant?

And I appreciate your critique and QB update. I'm certainly glad there is someone on here to provide clarity. "disjointed"? Actually, it the comment was designed to transmit a bit of comedic relief to a HoHum subject. But there is this a Romney will still be at receiver (he was very good) so the payoff $$ can be directed to him instead. It's good you can identify "enthusiasm". And lastly, I feel bad for someone who thinks everything is a "rant"..quite odd-telling.

We can only hope Scott learned from his road losses and has the teams ready to battle.

By Golly--CJS better bring his best season as a HC this year or.....we may be looking into the Coaches Transfer Portal. He has some experience now and has 2 additions to his staff that are experienced/seasoned. The returning assistants have shown they are quality coaches so...Time for CJS to put his Big Coach Pants on and go out and show us he can build a winner..

  10. Nice to see USF guys coming back to Tampa. As for the $$ donating mentioned on here, I would think any donation by one of these past players in pro's would be done quietly. Otherwise, everybody and their brother, cousin, 3rd cousin, classmate would be trying to hit them up for some bucks..Hopefully, they are throwing some $$ USF way.

I’ll jump in here.  I’ve scaled back a lot of my posting on TBP because frankly I saw myself becoming very jaded and cynical when it comes to all things USF athletics and I didn’t like it.  My wife and I both graduated from USF, we’re both alumni for life, we have season tickets to football, we donated some to the IPF and we will make an occasional away game roadie and we generally love the  University and the Bulls, however, the perpetual losing in all sports that matter, getting passed by Oviedo, getting snubbed by the B12 and the blanket contract extensions has worn me down.  I realize there are a lot of positives happening off the filed/court but the on field/court performance across the board is awful. Yes I’m being cynical again lol.  I see nothing in the upcoming sports year that tells me anything will different and  I’m also being told that a losing record in football…AGAIN should be seen as progress.

With that being said, I’ll be in my seats for BYU hoping things will different but not expecting it

    Go Bulls!

Nope-Dont see cynical at all I see truth. Just think how tough you've become being a USF Fan..Ain't easy. If your a diehard USF Fan, a person can handle anything thrown at them in life....well, possibly not a nuke attack?? But, another football/basketball season...cake walk.

I guess I wasn’t  clear.  I was referring to the extra year of eligibility with Covid.  There were both challenges  and advantages  with Covid.  The lack of practice tIme was a challenge but being able to get an extra year of eligibility was a plus.  So between players now immediately eligible thorough the portal and an extra year of eligibility due to Covid coaches are able to rebuild a program much quicker by CJS own admission.  I guess if we beat Florida and Oviedo I would consider 5-7 successful but to not get your program to 6-6 by year 3 should throw up a red flag.

For the record, I’m not for firing him if we don’t get to 6-6.

Or, did the dreaded covid actually make us keep players on scholarship (ex year) that we needed gone so those slots could be filled with higher caliber players..Hmm?🤔Which then set us back another season at certain positions...?? Makes one wonder don't one???         But now---? We just need to go win some games. No excuses just hit the field and go kick some ass.

did leavitt take any ownership in his failures here?

he thought beating orlando 4 times ended his job.what a mistake that was. you needed to keep playing them and keeping beating them.

pouncing on big jim is like whats going on out in society currently singling out a specific for a collective problem. obviously, it was a series of things and people that lent to our fall from success. good old jim gets beat-up repeatedly for not winning the conference or finishing better than .550-.600 but... we were a football team with less than 10-15 years of experience/existence. we sure did go to a lot of bowl games while CJL was here and sure did receive a lot of hype from the sports folks. compared to now and the past 6 years?? I wont ever beat CJL up. He was the best we could have had to kick start this program. Thats that. Now, I hope CJS can ignite this thing and gets something going-Now

  14. Guess the wake-up call should have been the "first time" ucf beat us. That should have told the admin and athletics that we just got our ass handed to us by a school/program we always dominated and thought to be a lessor program. Doesn't matter who was coaching, ad, pres, board--we were just passed by. We all know the rest of the story. When the conf usa additions started beating up on us something was very wrong. We were supposed to be a higher-level team. And here we are trying to struggle back to relevance.

Gah, how did no one comment on the writing of that article yet?  It was awful, like a middle schooler wrote it or (more likely) a computer AI spit it out:

Can head coach Jeff Scott finally get this thing going? The team needs a whole lot more depth and it has to come up with something on a rebuilding defensive front, but the offense should start to look stronger.

The schedule isn’t going to give the team any help to crank up a whole lot of confidence with BYU to star and with Florida, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Houston on the road. It’ll be a hard time to get to six wins.

That's four sentences, and only the first has correct grammar, spelling, etc.  I only made it through a few other teams' previews before my brain had enough.

Whew!!  I'll bet they received a very low grade...

  16. 3-9 seems familiar like maybe it was the past seasons prediction..?  Tough to see us constantly rated the last or next to last team in the conference. Maybe we will do better than the prediction...?? We dont know because like last season we dont have any idea what we have until we hit the field in Sept. Last year at NC St it was a meat grinder. BYU in 22 ??
