  1. Killington Cold..Use to ski down and into parking lot to car..get a snort then break the ice off my beard and head back up..Ah, I was a hardy muther at one time..Actually, fell of the lift one time there. Seat covered with ice slid off and under bar hanging, they stopped the lift so I let go. Good thing we weren't up to far and there was some new snow. Football?? I wonder if Da'Quan skies?? See how I tied that into the topic??
  2. Never skied NH prob because I was married to a Vermonter Frenchie. Now a NC mtn woman..hmm? Maybe a Colorado gal next????
  3. apparently this conversation has slid off topic...DC ? always like it when there is some pro input on a college coaching staff. along with the fact that he was an all American too I think..
  4. always liked Stowe in VT it was smaller than Killington but more laid back atmosphere. always liked the signs at Killington though, " stay on the trails the woods are a dark and lonely place at night". don't ski anymore age caught up along with replacement body parts...hmm? might be the skiing that had something to do with that..? All FL folks should go try it at least once. NC close but not the same as VT, NH or even VA. Colorado if you can go that far away...you'll prob be hooked or, in a body cast but oh what fun you'll have... Enjoy your cross country NEB watch out for the moose....
  5. Our QB stable is pretty full and could still get larger something gotta give at some point. It will all be interesting to watch as he builds his team.
  6. Was tough to tell just how good any of our QB's were/are since most the time they were running for their lives. You mention Rygol, be interesting to see what the new coach thinks of him we only got glimpses but, he looks similar in size and moves as the video on Fortin...he showed some positives. I was never a BB fan. McC might grow into something?? but to me he looked fragile. Would like to see Evans at running back he looks good. Guess 5 would be the number. I see someone or 2 transferring. Gotta admit, new program coming be interesting.
  7. Young Coaches = Energy...problem is: I have USF t-shirts older than most of these guys....not to mention underwear and socks...
  8. I'm sure CJS has a purpose to his life's direction. He needs to build a resume at the HC level hopefully, on success. His future?? who knows. If we get this program on the right track built on consistent winning that's a good thing for all of us to enjoy. We also know the likelihood of his leaving is prob a given at some point. To early to worry about that even before it's begun. I just get the read that this guy wont be a job jumper. Future Clemson HC ?? Maybe. We know the Group of 5 is the coach building platform. This man could be a different animal from what we have seen to date at USF. Might be a good thing. If he and the Admin now have a goal to build a consistent winner at USF....hard to ***** at that it's what we've been waiting for.. If USF wants to build our football program into one resembling Clemson...Go for it !
  9. I like reading some of the posts on here that are Positive, Optimistic. I steer clear of the others, even blocked some---boring. We just endured 2 seasons of Suck so some hope for a better future is kinda a nice departure. Just cant get myself to search for negativity. You gotta ask.. Why?? Possibly some therapy??? or Frosted Flakes for breakfast??? :-}
  10. Personally, I think CJS staying with Clemson is admirable and says a lot about his character/loyalty. We already sniffed some success w/ WT only to have him cut and run for his first Dream Job. CJS can prob multi task so we are prob receiving some benefit that we don't know is going on. He isn't coming to USF to fail....All the arguments are prob just individual worries since we just witnessed a house cleaning. Now the ones about CJL and JG are strange but....
  11. pizza for breakfast ?? sorry I didn't mean to dampen your excitement.... of course I remember the days of old when a morning after seemed to go well with cold pizza...Enjoy your pizza. I think it's called Papa Shaquille's now. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it though.....Maybe Pizza Shaq would work better...
  12. Staff will be in their roles at USF after New Years if not currently. Recruiting? Position coaches are prob going to target some of the guys that they already had in their sights at their previous location. CJS will prob recruit some that he already had on his Clemson list. There has to be a lot of quality kids that aspire to go to Clemson that wont be offered due to the number of avail scholarships so?? If they see merit in coming further south or are already FL kids we will prob recv some benefit. ?? A lot of recruiting these days involves phone, twitter, email contacts.
  13. Some positive(s) to a losing program seems like a good thing. Not sure very many of us think USF will be the Clemson South. Poor puc seems cluttered.
  14. A lot of good substance in that Greenville article. CJS dad is right we couldn't buy the positive press we are getting. Something positive revolving around a losing program...not a bad thing. As we read about CJS it helps create a better picture of who he is.
  15. No need for apology at all.(but do you really?) Ha! Nope not "set off" either. I just thought that reply was way way way out of the realm of the "spirit" of the comment. I doubt I will be at MK's house dining or sending him a Christmas or b-day card. More times than not most reference to Kelly is MK. Guess I thought if anyone commented on my words it might be something of a positive nature, aimed at the man I was attempting to show my gratitude to. "Set off"?( c'mon date fighting words) Ha! no I don't get set off on TBP. I just shake my head sometimes and mutter WTF at some of the things people write on someone's posts. You have 14,028 posts vs my mere 870 so I must yield to the higher power. I pray Michael Kelly forgives me for my error. Actually, Cuz..if you read my comments you should ascertain that I was just screwing with you..I just thought it was a goofy remark vs the subject of my post. Believe me, this is far from serious stuff. All in fun...cuz, All in fun..
  16. Nice you feel so strongly about his name but it's prob only a minimal issue...Read again, the "spirit" of the post that's where the meat hangs on the bone of my sentiments. I was saying Thank You to MK for his effort and interest in Our school and...even posted it to begin with out of "respect" for his targeting/hiring of CJS. FYI> My confirmation name is Michael. It was used at times because my Dad and I had the same first name and my Grandfather's name was the same as my middle name. So some family and friends used my confirmation name. Yep, so it was Michael by my Mother when she wanted my immediate response and Mike by anyone who felt like using Mike. Kinda like James-Jim, Phil-Philip, Albert-Al, George-George. Seriously CR, if MK came onto TBP and read positive things being directed his way referring to him as...MK, Mike or Michael Kelly would he really would be offended? I think not. Cuz or do you prefer Cousin? it's the spirit of the post.. "spirit" I'll stand by my original statement. I felt like saying Thank You. However, I will tuck away the info re: MK's name preference for the future since you put forth the effort to point it out to me. And now that you know the origin of my confirmation name you wont need to read the book or watch the movie.."All About Me"
  17. Ok. I'll call him Mike you call him Michael that way all the bases will be covered.. Bet if you were behind him and said, Hey Mike! He would turn around..
  18. I'm sure it was a rude awakening for him re: academic reqs at USF vs ECU and now LaTech. Be interesting to see what the future might hold for him if he takes another HC job somewhere in P5 ??? I think after a while in Tampa he may have concentrated more on his golf game and fishing.. Good for him and his current success.
  19. I was going to start a topic re: Mike Kelly. He made a reference to the number of contacts he received from Alumni regarding the next coaching hire. He implied that most of the contacts were quite emphatic about their opinion. He said it kiddingly. I'm sure he got swarmed... I for one would like to say to Mike Kelly.....GREAT JOB VP. His connections to the ACC I believe, have gotten us a Head Coach that just could put the University back in the National light with winning seasons. Sure, lots of unknowns but on the surface this looks to be a very good hire. You've planted the seed of optimism... THANKS Mike Kelly
  20. Yes it's nice to have something positive pointed in our direction.. Got tired of hearing the sports media folks wondering what had happened to USF. They have won some big games in their 25 years..Etc. So yep, nice change of perspective coming our way via CJS.
  21. 6-6 and a bowl game the first year for this coaching staff?? That would be a phenom achievement. I think the USF football program is about to shift into high gear, high energy. of course we are all hopeful and interested/anxious to see what transpires.
