  1. It is actually a fact that has played out for me, injuries felt during the younger active years do contribute to some of the repairs( or re-do's of repairs) you get in your older years. But, playing, competing and being active is fun/rewarding so just go for it and enjoy life as it is while young...…..hell, you can just get stuff fixed later on in life plus, you have more recovery time since you don't have to go to work...…...
  2. Ah excuse me...Were trying to discuss Medicare here can you do the sports stuff some where else???
  3. Welcome to the Glorious Golden Years...I've hollered at this old guy to get out of my house but then realized it was me looking in the mirror??? Medicare? gotta say it does beat the extremely high premium++ I was paying but, pay medicare and a supplement plus pharmacy coverage= not cheap but better. I noticed my prior youthful athleticism started to decrease( late 50's) as my surgeries and replacements increased. Plantar fasciitis? Try a pair Hoka shoes. Still walking and biking otherwise??? Ha...bet were scaring( or boring) the **** out of the younger guys on here..hahaha... Oh, and I did watch the women play. Thought they were going to lose that game as they squandered their lead. Yep, similarities with the mens..go figure.
  4. Good for you and.. I heard that you don't look a day over 62 so keep up the good work
  5. I'm thinkin....TBP pension fund. Member hits 70 and all the working members help supplement their lifestyle/income hmmm? Prob everyone would jump on board for that..? Poss get free game tickets? special stadium seating with a nice USF blanket? tailgates with something soft to eat plus some electrolyte fluids.? hmmm again ?
  6. This is a tough one and should be a good one. Clemson has been my fav ACC team for many years but, LSU has been my #2 fav SEC team behind FL. Both coaches are quality men and superb coaches. With our addition of CJS I want him to come into USF w/ another Championship ring. I'm hoping to see the game come down to the wire. Best O against best D. Both can score points fast but I think it will be a D battle??? CLEMSON 31 LSU 28 Great match-up
  7. Well hot **** and pass the ammo...finally, somebody on TBP older than me Alright !! Watching our Bull's teams get the young'uns all ticked off but ****...it could kill us. But as Bamabull can attest...we will Bull's fans until we die. And, be on TBP just to piss some folks off...
  8. Ok NEbull I will conclude my Fri foolishness with the only response applicable to the "big bucks" reference. Had I been quicker w/ my delivery I would then play upon your adding "paid". In turn I would bend it around into a deer hunting reference... Thus providing you with a head shake at the end of the work week. Have a good weekend. Maybe via Divine Providence( along w- good shooting/ball handling/rebounding/hustle) we will run over Memphis tomorrow...go bull's
  9. Been a member for years. Some years ago I went ahead and became a Life Member. Mainly, I have done it to just stay in touch( don't live in Tampa area) show support. Discounts? I have used the car rental discounts and car insurance over the years, saved some money. or, it's the illusion of saving some money.. Tailgates? have gone to some at away games again, mainly to support the AA. We have found them kinda drab but there's food.( Notre Dame and Tulane prob most fiun) We have had more fun in the stands with other USF folks. I like the Alumni News magazine. If you join just looking at the "bennies" then prob not worth it. Over the years I have been amazed at the USF grads I run into that have NO interest in joining the Alumni Assoc. or, supporting USF. I know of 2 doctors and a vet all USF grads but, no interest. My nephew just graduated a year ago, no interest. Personally, I don't get it but everybody does their own thing. Good luck with your personal debate. Hope everyone's insight helps out.
  10. Fantastic addition to USF and for City of Tampa. New growth spin-off will be interesting. We'll have to take a look when were in town during fb season. The funding is interesting and on-going. Maybe it would speed things up for the IPF and OCS if they had an Urgent Care Facility embedded ?$? Dual funding/ on-going income source man what a win-win situation. Or, maybe not.
  11. There you go getting all academic on me...Scott- got it. Mr and Ms- got it. What a life saver you and Jonesy are now I know why you get the big bucks... Ah yes I am a trained observer. and... I just like screwing around putting smiles on your faces
  12. It's nice when an alum can come back to coach, wish her a lot of good luck. Her comment in the article on the Athletics page did it for me..." My Heart Beats With Pride For USF". Now that's a cool comment/sentiment. BUT, there is one problem...... She will now be CJS. However, we already have a CJS. This is a quandary for sure... If a situation arises where CJS is at a football game coached by CJS or... CJS is at a volleyball game coached by CJS...I guess we will have to refer to these 2 coaches as CJSV and CJSF.. Confusing times at old USF...
  13. thanks for posting this it was interesting and yeah he continues to get you inspired. I got a kick out of his recruiting comparison. Comparing the process to meeting, impressing and finally getting married to his wife. CJS really is a Southern boy... He is very likeable.
  14. Mr. Mike, I don't know you but there seems to be a lot of folks on TBP that think the world of you. What a nice tribute to an individual. Hope your recovery is short and your at 100% in the near future. Good luck to you fellow Bull.
  15. Do you think he was going to be "upset" or did he mean by 3 td's it would be an "upset" ?? Actually, your "Prepare to be very upset" will work either way. I don't really care if we beat FAU by 3 td's or 3 pts I'll not be "upset" either way.
  16. Hope all had a Great New Year. Don't forget to have your Black Eyed Pea's, Greens and Corn Bread soon there's still time. Good Luck and Prosperity will come your way. Hope our FL born SC grown CJS serves up a New Year's meal to our Team Good one you old throwback..
  17. Ha...long story. We were actually in the area and spent the night along the road...and what a zany night it was. We were headed to Boston from FL in my van. Heard about a music festival from a hitchhiker so we went over there. It was a mad house of humanity. I had my dog so we didn't try to go the rest of the way. Hit the road the next morning. Just got out of school so we were free wheeling for a time looking around. Must remember: many "hippies" were pretty much bums and pan handling beggars. Some were true peace puppies. I was more motorcycle oriented so I had a different perspective. Funny..Hadn't thought of this stuff in a long time.
  18. HA !!! Born in 66??? I graduated in 66.....60's were a very good time.
  19. Didn't want to get reprimanded by the "watchers" and then have to live with a negative in my permanent file...Say, how about that O line coach? His FIU guys were monsters
  20. Hmm? WViginny gal?? No better not my wife will get ticked off at me but thanks for offering... :=)
