  1. Being one of the younger guys (I went to USF during the entire Holtz'd era) it's pretty cool to hear some of these older stories. Really does bring some perspective, especially during a season where I was mostly upset about having a 9-2 football team to root for. Appreciate it y'all.
  2. Just watched a piece of the opening press conference on JK's twitter feed. Even though my better judgement tells me that this probably won't end well for him, you gotta love the enthusiasm Willie has for the game. I hope he crushes it - can't root against the guy. Also, the Willie T bus is 100x better than that Taggart train bs that the noles came up with. That is all.
  3. Don't think it does. They are hoping this guy will be some sort of QB whisperer since he coached Bradford during his heisman season and did well with the QB at Mizzou. I'm not buying it. Frost coached for Chip Kelly for like 6 years and went to title games before moving to ucf. This guy got fired by Stoops and coached one year at a 7-5 SEC east team. That #10 offense ranking also looks flukey when you consider that Mizzou ended up going on a 6 game win streak to end the season and took advantage of dysfunction at UF and Tennessee to win two games during the stretch that they normally would have lost. Also, not sure if Shannon will be willing to take a back seat to this guy. You could argue that Shannon is a larger name than Heupal - might see some egos clashing here...
  4. I agree. There really is no silver lining with this situation. We're far too talented to be okay just getting to bowl games. That was fine 3-4 years ago, but not now. Its not a good time to be a Bulls fan to be honest. Also, that line about ucf stealing our season is so true and I ******* hate admitting it. They are ahead of us right now and regardless of that 0-12 season they have been ahead since they were added to the AAC.
  5. I think at least 8 every year in this conference should be the expectation.
  6. One of the many differences between Tags and Kiffin is that Kiffin decided to talk a bunch of crap, stir up the pot with other coachss, and made UT a bunch of promises and then walked out. I don't think Taggart has done much of that. He may have made promises to some of his recruits, but I don't think he's promised nearly as much to the fans and boosters. Also, if they didn't want him to leave then they wouldn't have set his buyout so low. I think it's like $4ish million? Go get paid Willie. And then proceed to crush UF. Would root for FSU over the other any day of the week. At least FSU still agreed to fulfill their home and home with us.
  7. Q couldn't see over his line hence the reason why he would scramble so much.
  8. He ain't staying three years. He wins 9 games next year and....he gone! Double digit wins is ambitious for next year but it's certainly realistic for the team to be in 8-9 range given the schedule and depth of talent. I'm actually pretty excited about the QB battle next year and to see what we have at RB now.
  9. Probably Sawtelle, but im hoping they can get a guy with better physical tools. Can you imagine if Auggie had been quicker on his feet? He would broken that tackle record his junior year lol. Maybe Kierston Johnson? I think he plays LB right?
  10. I agree with pretty much all of this. If CCS stays I think the defense is better in year two. The line and LBs are thin but we have two Duke DTs that transferred and might get an LB that transfers in. Secondary should be fine - think we still have Hoggins, Mazzi, McGee and I think a few others coming back. Excited to see some of the younger guys get a shot too. Willie recruited skill positions so well that we should be set for another year or two on offense. I think QB play might fit Gilbert's system more this year since Oladokun and Kean can hit intermediate throws better than Q could. Those intermediate plays will hopefully help open up the dive plays that Gilbert loves to run so much. I'm more interested to see who takes the top depth chart position for RB - Cronkrite, Sands, or E. Mack?
  11. I wouldnt be so quick to the jump there. As we all have painfully experienced throughout this season, preseason speculation doesnt mean ****, especially with a new coaching staff (which they will most likely have) regardless of who you're bringing back. Also, I wouldnt automatically assume that we'll have a huge dropoff in QB play next year. Q will be missed no doubt, but I'm optimistic on Oladokun and Kean. If we can keep McCloud through NSD I would be interested to see how he performs as well - the guy got looks from a few P5 programs and looks to have the same mold as Q. Not to mention, we got an under the radar commit out of GA who is also dual threat.
  12. Even though we lost... I done told yall Q was gonna make it rain! He did in more ways than one! (referring to his friendly hand gesture after scoring on of his TDs)
  13. Not sure about Butch...what about Manny Diaz? Or Larry Scott?
  14. Bring your ponchos...because Quinton Flowers gonna make it RAIN! #7-2
  15. Find it interesting that he was so quick to pull the trigger on Childs and Jackson, but is playing the "wait and see" game with Dingle who was one of the guys he recruited. Maybe a little arrogant and hypocritical to think that one of "his guys" would never be proven guilty to do something like that and be given the benefit of the doubt on this type of crime. Right now, it looks like harsh accountability only applied to Taggart's guys that were going to ride the bench and not top recruits from the 2017 class. One more thing that makes me think it would be a good thing if CCS ended up getting poached.
  16. Lol - I was just trying to highlight the fact that Charlie likes to say "just" almost as much as a valley girl likes to say "like"
  17. "You know I just think that we just could've just executed a bit better today. You just have to run the dive play 50 times to just soften the defense and just win the battle in the trenches. Just running the conservative plays will really just wear down the other team and just win you the ball game." - Charlie Strong
  18. It's kinda funny how attitudes towards a specific game change from week to week. I feel like some of us were signing a different tune after the UConn game.. Say what you want about the coaching this year, but the game against Tulsa actually did come down to execution. The play calling wasn't nearly as vanilla and the OC did incorporate screens, end arounds along with throws that QF SHOULD be able to make. As for UCF, our defense won't shut them down but I think they will be able to get stops on them and get pressure to the QB. If we turn the ball over 3 times in the game then we lose. If we play a clean game and run the ball well on their defense, which is very doable, then it's a close game. It's rivalry week, emotions will run high - our advantage (and maybe our only true advantage in this game) is that we have leadership that is capable of keeping us in games. I don't think we get blown out. Godspeed boys!! #BullsUnite #beatUCF
  19. Strength of schedule favors BSU on the surface. The bottom half of our division is hot garbage and we lost to the only decent team we've played this year. That is swaying CFP. Right now we believe we're better than our ranking (which we might be), but the track record really doesn't show it. You can spin it however you want but the G5 teams ranked ahead of us have proven themselves against better competition and we have not, not even once. Fact. Get over it. The next 2-3 weeks makes or breaks our season and shows how good we truly are. It's really that simple. It's time to nut the f**k up, or shut the f**k up. #beatTulsa #justwinbaby #canitjustbeBlackFridayalready???
  20. The defense looks kinda soft. Pretty generous against the run and a mobile QB. That UConn FG drive is the blueprint on how to beat them. Eat up clock and beat them in the trenches....and finish in the red zone.
  21. Was just researching the costs of some similar projects by P5 schools - if we can follow through on this you could argue that we have P5 caliber facilities. Clemson's football only facility was opened this past year and cost around $55 million. I think this is a great investment for us at the moment and the ROI on this will be seen well into the future. Never understood why people thought the administration wasn't supportive of athletics either. Nice things like this are worth the patience and the extended due diligence. Also this will be a great asset to present when realignment occurs in a few years. Maybe there was a method to the administration's madness here?
  22. I think the timing is actually pretty good now if you think about the next wave of realignment. The IPF will is gonna be high quality though. Hope it can double as a football only facility that would be something that UF doesn't even have yet.
  23. There will be plenty of P5 teams that give him a look. AD's love that old school mentality and the dependability of Strong when it comes to managing culture. If we don't have a complete meltdown over the next 3 games, he will get some interest. Won't be Scott Frost type of interest but he will get some looks for sure.
