  1. This is awesome! What a great experience for these players. What a great team building exercise. Laying a solid foundation for bigger things ahead.
  2. The fact that we have a QB identified is a MAJOR hurdle. Look at our best seasons, we had Matt, BJ, and Q. On what we have seen so far, IMO Timmy is ahead of those 3 when they were a freshman. I would imagine that BJ is giving some tips to Timmy, and what a great mentor for him to have. Focus on building the team from inside out by building OL/DL depth, followed my LBS who can run sideline to sideline, safeties/dbs that can cover and offer run support. Then I would focus on building depth at offense skill sets RB/WR. As we have some pieces to work with
  3. Recruiting is very different now than what it was just a few seasons ago. We need CJS to build pipelines around FL and get that talent to at least have a visit. Immediate playing time will be a positive to other places can't offer. At this point we need to go after kids early like we did with Timmy had bank on some of these kids blooming their Sr. year. I think solid 3 star recruits will help us move the needle, sprinkle in some JUCOs, then supplement with some transfer portal players. The portal is so fluid that guys are literally just playing a year and moving on. I think those players you want to just want to make sure they are an immediate contributor.
  4. There is no Kool-Aid, no one forcing us to buy in. As a fan you are allowed to spend what you are willing to and with the understanding that it buys you nothing. Of course everything is great when your winning. It sucks when your losing, but as a fan it is those brief windows when your team turns the corner that make it worth it.
  5. You can not compare a sample size of 4 games of what Timmy has put on tape and compare him to those 3 individuals it is simply unfair. QBs actually should not be selling out and putting their head down. I understand that you want some swag or toghness from your QB, there are other ways to show that. He needs to protect himself. Look at the talent that was around Matt Grothe not only on offense but defense as well. BJ Daniel's was an NFL QB, he also had talent around him. Finally Q, had 2 NFL rbs, 2 NFL WRs. Coaching will not Trump talent. Those fans that are leaving are the only thing soft with our program.
  6. We need more from our defense and I am not sure if Spencer can scheme anything with what we have on defense. I'm not sure Spencer can put a defense together period. I simply do not know enough about his past track record. I think Scott needs to look at making that change at end of the season.
  7. Half cylinders is correct.....the talent or lack there of on defense needs to be addressed. We need some high character and physical players either from Juco or transfer portal. I think today we saw a lot more PF penalties and other lost a little discipline. Half cylinders is correct.....the talent or lack there of on defense needs to be addressed. 8. Everyone needs to relax. Firing CJS is absurd. Coaching can't overcome the lack of talent that is on our defensive side of the ball. We need more talent plain and simple. There were plays to be made and whether you choose to believe it or not there was a point going into the 4th qtr that we were in striking distance. Timmy made some freshman mistakes, but come on if you can't see the strides this team has made, then your simply looking for us to fail. There is no coach out there that we can get, that could snap their fingers and make us bowl eligible team. No one expected us to go into SMU and win today.
  9. The poise that Timmy showed for his first road start in that environment was fantastic, especially more important there were no penalties. The coaching staff just needs to embrace the slow grind and wear defenses down. Keep the underneath routes flowing as extensions of the run game, and then take the deep shots when we are ahead on downs and distance. They will have to defend the whole field all game. I think our confidence will build as the season moves along. I really didn't remember this off season much about our defensive depth going to be a problem.
  10. Yeah living in Orlando pretty much sucks the sports life out of you...... Thank goodness my fiancee, brother, brother-in law aren't huge UCF football fans even though they went there. In my office I have an ex-player so we talk a little smack but nothing too aggressive. Pretty sure he could rip my arms off..
  11. AAC should go after App St Coastal Car La Tech
  12. Fortin is just thinking way to much he has no confidence. Give him one more drive and then shut this door.
  13. or a version of the imperial march in star wars
  14. I love Bulls on Parade as well. That should be entrance, and then play hells bells going into the 4th. I Agree zombie nation is hard no. I also like Journey "Don't stop Bullieven" as an entrance along with Survivor "Eye of the Tiger"
  15. Might as well start the discussion and the tradition now. 1. Hells Bells AcDc
  16. There are things that need immediate attention within our University. We can all agree that an OCS isn't the elixir or cure all, but it does present us with something to rally behind. It gives us the hope that we are turning the corner away from being that so called commuter college. It brings a fresh breath of life into the campus that has deprived some many students over the years of what a game day feels like. We need to create a deeper connection between our University and the entire Tampa Bay community (including the satellite campuses), and it is going to take more than an OCS to fix that. These articles that have surfaced over the last few days, take them with a grain of salt. It is not important who is right at this time, it just matters that we get it right.
  17. Very well said. We have accomplished a lot, and we should not worry about any other program that our own. Don't give the trolls a reason to mock us. We will end up exactly where we are supposed to be. There are going to be ups and downs, just enjoy the ride. Rock your GREEN & GOLD proud !!!
  18. Maybe CJS could run sprints before kickoff, and headbutt a few guys coming out of the tunnel. That always got everyone going. Just saying!
  19. At this point we just need to show that our offense has an "PLAN". How is it appears we can never make in game adjustments. We need coaches that are able and willing to adapt and take some chances, and actually think outside of the box. They said it during the UGA and CLEM game, has everyone figured out Clemson offense? Everyone is running some version of up tempo offense. The problem that you saw Georgia and Clemson is the defensive talent was greater than the offensive talent on the field. Clemson had no one that could shoulder that moment, not yet. We need to put in packages that play to their strengths, build the confidence, then take shots.
  20. Would Leavitt ever return to the sidelines at USF? In all seriousness, Rutgers just brought back Greg Schiano back. Imagine if Jim would have signed that contract to go to Alabama back in 2007? How different would everything be in college football today?
  21. I just finished reading through all three parts..... It seems that we were living in some dark days. The future was looking oh so bright. The world is not the same place it was 10,15, or 30 years ago. It moves so fast these days that you have to be adaptable and flexible with your mentality. People, now want to be as someone mentioned "empowered". They want to be heard and made to feel that they matter on some level to the greater cause of the success of the organization. It is up to the leaders to get people to buy in. The systemic failures need to be addressed, people that are in leadership roles need to do more listening to those they are entrusted to lead. So many people truly care about the success of this University, but are the powers that be able to listen to these messages. We have discussion after discussion on this board, but this is a simple message board. I doubt there is anyone taking notice of anything we are discussing here with any real merit. We need to view our University as a whole and not make one group more important than the other. We are all in this together. The only thing that matters is that we get it right. Go Bulls!
