  1. then we would be mopped up and dumped behind the woodshed. That should completely sum it up. However, maybe just maybe we truly did play our worst game of the season in the first game. We shall see.
  2. We have heard their slogan, it should read instead. the future of UCF TROLLS live here. We know that they are going to come here and take their moment to bask in their success and bash us. They want to come here and say how pathetic our fan base is but lets not give into that, or drop to that level. They fail to remember that they started college football 42 years ago. The have had 17 year head start on us in development. In their 25th season they were winless which 2004. Their fans base has forgotten what it felt like going through these growing pains. History is the best teacher. Took UCF 26 years to get to their first bowl game Took UCF 28 years years to win their first conference title Took UCF 31 years to win their first bowl game In 42 years UCF has been to 12 bowl games In our 24 years of Football we have accomplished: Took South Florida 6 years to get to our first bowl game. Took South Florida 7 years to get our first bow win. In 24 years South Florida has been to 10 bowl games. zero titles Let them come here and try to bash us and spew the hate on how pathetic we are. South Florida is too big of a University and in too great of a TV market to not be relevant in college football. There just has not been enough time. Are resources have been dedicated to building us into a preeminent university, growing our endowment, which is growing every year to the point we may be only behind UF after next year. (not including UM as they are private). The fact that we are only 9M shy of FSU is simply incredible. UCF only has an Endowment of 155M ours is pushing 700M for those wondering. Now is our time where it really comes down to when not if? As we search for a new president I am sure bringing someone in which has the vision that can continue to push us into the next level of something much bigger both academically and athletically. Does it sting and is it a little humbling, of course. Let's not forget what we truly are....that is a Great University! So let the trolls come. They can Kick us when we are down, if they are so inclined. We wont be down for long. Things happen as they are meant to. We will take the next bus and find our way just fine. Never needed to ride on coat-tails before and not going to start now. Go Bulls! PS for the trolls good luck you guys deserve everything that comes your way. You have earned it.
  3. With a 40K seat stadium our season tickets would go up, students would come, and we would absolutely win some of the fans back. We would have a stadium that looked more full than empty like when you look around RJS seating its looks like no one is there. There is no intimacy we need the fans to make a difference on game day.
  4. What were the findings of the feasibility study for the OCS? These goals most of us would agree that there are a lot of boxes that are simply unchecked or need to be moved up in priority. I am curious to see if now with our rising academics if these goals are going to be moved higher into a priority.
  5. Absolutely. I forgot to mention the OCS seating around 40K which could added to later....Its about the energy and emotion build-up for everyone.
  6. one more thing this games was merely 11 years into our program's existence. Which is simply incredible. It wont be easy, but it is not unrealistic. We have to still bullieve in our program that we can build something truly special in the Tampa community. #USFOCS2024
  7. This was the snapshot of what we used to be. This stadium was 65K strong and probably the loudest I have ever heard Ray Jay and that includes Bucs games. That vision should not be dead. For those Bulls Fans who never got a chance to experience of what it meant to be a Bull. We had an attitude and buzz around our identity. We need to figure out how to recapture that. I think we will.... This is why OCS is now more important than ever. It is not too late, but we need it more than ever as a point to rally behind. Something to call our own, something to call our home, and something for us to protect. Build a tradition, make it an UNBULL-IEVEABLE entrance bring back the excitement. I was watching highlights of some college football best entrances and those are special moments for players and we should not deny them or the fans any longer.....
  8. So where does the American go from here? What teams out there would then view the American as a step up? Coastal, App State, UAB, FAU? Would any West Coast Teams make sense. Would it be viable or make sense for the American to be one of the first conferences to go to 20 Teams and have an American East/ American West? I am not overly familiar with the Mountain West but why not merge both of the those conferences and then take the next best 4 programs out there from the Sunbelt, C-USA, MAC. Are any of these conference strong enough to cause the American to dissolve and be poached further? I would not think so.
  9. That was also directed to the powers that be to give us and the athletics the 100% resources they need.
  10. We need to develop a short memory. I know we aren't wanting to accept moral victories, but we need to see progress and the ability of this coaching staff to make adjustments. Points are going to be scarce and there is a real possibility we may be shut out again. Be prepared for that reality and we need to be ready for it, but more important the players need to be ready to make a statement even if we lose by 50.
  11. Tulane is playing well. Very nice start to the game. Go American!
  12. The program absolutely needs all of us, some of us will choose to say enough is enough. That is okay everyone is entitled to make up their own mind and do what they please with their time and money. If you decide you no longer wish to support and then you should save yourself the heartache and misery. Those that want to stay on this wild and crazy ride, invest your time and money as you please but temper your expectations for this season. Go check out some of the crypto projects and their message boards, people are so fickle with their expectations and constantly losing their minds. Its okay to be frustrated, that is expected when you are passionate about something. However, only invest (emotionally, time, and money) what your comfortable losing and understand that you either believe in this or you don't. If not that is okay! For everyone else as the topic says USF needs us more than ever, and we need them to. A great relationship is everyone giving 100%
  13. Its the first Saturday of College Football! Long Labor Day Weekend. Enjoy it! Go Bulls
  14. Your right. There are no butt hurt feelings over Taggart leaving. Anyone would have taken that better opportunity in his position. CWT won and had us moving in right direction. Coaches are paid to win games, and he did his job. I see the faults in my question as it should have been more directed as a statement that our powers that be are expecting the coaches, players, and fans to carry the responsibility of moving the needle forward. That is were the systematic failures lie.
  15. As a Bulls alum and life long fan, who has been living in Orlando since 2001 can say that I have watched UCF build the experience from the ground up. They deserve what they have earned to this point. We need to be humble and as much as it sucks, and stings come to terms with we are on the outside looking in for now. The OCS is absolutely the doorway which will lead to bigger and better opportunities, but the fans can not lose faith or hope in the university they love. UCF never did and they have had not one but 2 win-less season over the last 20 years. What UCF is doing should have no bearing on what we do or fail to do. It is up to us no one else.
  16. The posts of Fire CJS is utterly stupid and very near sighted. This program lost its identity once CJL was fired. Skip we can all agree was a joke, but let's call a spade a spade he was replacing CJL. Enter CWT all he did was get everyone excited about being Bay Made, and bolted for the $$$ and if it was not for those players demanding a different offensive philosophy to play fast, well CWT is shown how difficult success is at that next level. Which brings us to CCS who could not find any success at Texas and he fell into our lap because of CWT leaving so abruptly. Now come full circle to CJS who has spent time at Clemson learning from Dabo that has had a winning culture and built something truly special. So of those coaches since CJL the question is who has left this program better than they found it?? None! We need a coach that wants to leave a footprint and build something. We have to give CJS time and that doesn't and will not happen in a single season. Especially not when previous coaches were simply going through the motions and were focused on other things than the one thing that truly mattered which was pushing the bar up and moving us forward. We can not accept this mentality anymore.
  17. This is truth. Do we not see the models that Florida and Florida St have put out there. Our endowment has almost surpassed FSU in size and only growing. If we invest in top tier athletics that will strengthen our university and absolutely open us up to more donors including alumni who want to give back to their university.
  18. I firmly agree with this after all these are student athletes. Although we know that landscape is becoming oh so slippery. We have great academics, are in a great tv market, and believe it or not Champa-Bay will buy-in. We just need to give them something to support. Look at the schools in the B10. I know it seems laughable, but why not strive for that you know the ACC, B10, and Pac12 are going to be looking to add to their conference portfolio if we build the facilities and begin to win back the hearts of our fans, and community. We will not be left out the next time realignment comes along when it absolutely will matter the most.
  19. Tampa Bay is one of the nations leading Tech Cities and only growing bigger, the housing market is exploding. There are tons of businesses, and new rooftops going up everyday. We just have to included and give them something to be proud of. There is no value in crap. If we keep doing the same thing, we will continue with the same results. Build the OCS, the surrounding area up to make it an experience for the fans and students. It is these experiences that truly make fans and alumi passionate about their brand and want to give back. That mantra if you build they will come. It just may take a little time. We have to stop the insanity of waiting for handouts we need to re-create on our destiny and start winning football games, but the MOST IMPORTANT winning the hearts back of those from past present, and future. GO BULLS!
  20. We need to be our own biggest fans. It is showing now more than ever why we were passed over in this realignment. We are close and there is potential but these realignments are happening for football and really football only. If our administration and board doesn't want that, then we need to just step aside and stop pretending that we belong. No one else is going to loves us, if we do not first love ourselves. Once we do that and begin investing into our program and pumping Green and Gold into the bay area and control what we can control. Only then can we begin to move forward. We also really need our local media to step up and get involved and help make us relevant. Living in Orlando, yes they talk about the UF, FSU, and Miami, but they really talk about UCF the city and surrounding communities are 100% behind them. We can't say that. We really need to begin to make better inroads in the surround Tampa Bay area, and get them behind us. Right now we feel like we have been knocked out by a flurry of blows from everywhere.... Now the hardest part is getting back up....
  21. Penalties had nothing to do with the outcome of this game. We were simply physically over matched, felt as if we had no real game plan on how we were going to attack them offensively or defensively. CJS said earlier in the week that first 9 plays are scripted, but it sure did show on tape what we were trying to do except kept trying to do the same thing over and over and expect different results.
  22. I was kidding about the 12th man. I was simply just referring to how defense has to be played these days as it feels the offense always has the edge.
