  1. Getting blown out of proportion... which deflects from the moment of grief. What Taggart said was fine... and after the dust settled a bit, what Harlan said was also fine. I support CWT 100% for not wanting his players down there in what could be a bad situation. I also understand Harlan needs to look at the bigger picture, relations with the city, donors, etc. I don't think CWT is 'done' by any stretch. Hopefully we stick 6-8 wins and a bowl game, and he lights it up in 2016. Harlan, rightfully so, will evaluate after this season is completed. God bless this family suffering an unnecessary loss.
  2. I love this kid and I'm really rooting for him. That said, he really just does not throw like a bona fide QB. Too much air under the ball. I love the two TD passes, but he's making me really nervous. He threw a screen pass into the dirt tonight. QF will probably scramble for a lot of first downs that other QBs would not get. He will also miss a lot of completions other QBs would get. I hope the former balances out the latter, and we get our 6 wins.
  3. This is not just any other game... this is (A) the easiest game of the year; ( It's the big reveal for our grand new offensive and defensive schemes; © this is our first real look at the new improved QF at QB. This game more than any other DOES indicate how the rest of the season will go... We should absolutely stomp these guys. We better win by at least 3 TDs... or it will be a long season.
  4. PUMPED FOR THIS SEASON, ESPECIALLY AFTER LAST NIGHT! GO BULLS!
  5. No one uses the term 'commuter school' unless it's a negative connotation. Period. Every university has SOMEONE who commutes. So if anyone claims 'commuter school' is an accurate description, then what's the magic percentage of on campus versus off to lose the moniker???
  6. I think it's a legitimate observation that a lot of great local kids that consider USF get stars in their eyes and leave, only to transfer back to get more playing time. In that regard, if you want to play more you are rolling the dice by going to the bigger-name program. Certainly I'm sure AW had some good life experiences in cali, but it's pretty clear they get more playing time here. Yes it's obviously their decision to make. I'd say that for all these kids that come back it could be considered a 'mistake' to have gone... as evidenced by the fact that they need to return. But hindsight... if they were starting (at UCLA or wherever...) it would have been a good risk to take. No hard feelings from me, I'm just glad talent comes home, better late than never. But my point is, if you dream of the NFL, just stay at USF, we can get you there! QF is a great kid, and I'm happy as hell we have AW for 2016. Just get us 6 wins this year please...
  7. One of the common identifying factors among most AAC schools is being a large university in a major city. I like that we share this characteristic among the conference, it shows we successfully deal with a lot of common challenges. Because of that, it's only natural that a lot of kids that live in the city will just drive in. This is just practical and cost effective, and not a problem whatsoever, so long as we also have a large portion living on campus.
  8. I admit that I don't know beans about how the NCAA or the Waiver process happens... but it seems to me he could have been told at the onset if it wasn't going to be reviewed in time for the season to start. They certainly should know their own schedule, or how fast the process normally takes. Making a good kid wait around and hope for four weeks only to be disappointed is nonsense. And unnecessary. I'd rather it have been denied then the NCAA just being to **** lazy to get around to it... or too discourteous to communicate. Rant over, sorry AW, hang in there!
  9. One of my all time favorite wins... Ranked ND, in their house, on opening day. Watching the coach melt down. Priceless.
  10. Great kid, I hope he's really ready too... Go get 'em QF!
  11. There may be a very small cadre of die hards around now... but it's up to the AD, coaches and players to right the ship. After four seasons of getting kicked in the teeth, I understand the declining numbers... I know '16 looks bright, but we can't get 6 this season, I think the negative press and hot wind from Orlando is going to be hard to take.
  12. I'm having the same worry about the MOSI site. It would be fantastic to get the land for some expansion, but it's waaaaay off the SE corner from the heart of campus. Why not put it in the Sun Dome parking lot, and just use the MOSI site to expand parking? Or better yet near the current practice fields... Makes it more practical to use more of the campus lots, and getting equal use of both Fowler and Fletcher for traffic is going to be very important once we start drawing 60K!!! Wasn't the NE corner around Holly and Birch sort of 'reserved' for a stadium someday?
  13. How much longer can this decision drag out? I don't know much about how long these applications/decisions take, but I was assuming it would happen quickly... as the outcome can radically change what we're doing in practice. Would be bad if it's approved, but not until just before our first game.
  14. Cool I'm standing by the music tent if you want to cone say hello sorry I thought you meant watching the thread... love the reports from yall that can be there, keep it coming.
  15. Man I know it's stupid, but I'm actually nervous about this I want him onboard that bad... Isn't it sick that I'm actually HOPING we SOMEHOW eek out 6-6? In this conference? smh
  16. I'm not getting my hopes up here, but can't we assume that if they submitted the waiver request that they came up with SOME quasi-viable rationale? Perhaps there is something going on in his life with family back here that could justify a waiver. I doubt they could submit a waiver with the rationale: "Just because he wants to play here". I'm certainly not hoping he has any family issues, but I'm really hoping he gets to play. I actually think getting the 3rd playing year is more important than avoiding skipping a year.
  17. The fate of CWT after this year, if we win 5 or less, will come down to nuances. He could stay if we were really close on a few games, had no embarrassing losses, and really look improved. Also if we have a complete injury meltdown. With AW coming in we should really want to get CWT to 16 if at all possible... But if we win 4 or less, if we have embarrassing losses... he's probably gone. Lord I hope we make some dramatic improvement this year... this team SHOULD win 6 and make that legendary St. Pete bowl.
  18. YES! Now please figure a way to get him eligible this fall!!!
  19. We can't afford to be proud in situations like this. I'm sick of losing. If he's still as good, heck yeah we take him. If it's true he's talked to Taggart, then it's probably going to happen... Everyone will deny until an official announcement. How many of these Florida kids get starry eyed, then go far from home and ride pine or get homesick... then return. Seems to happen quite a bit. I don't care if we were the Big East or the AAC... if we can put kids in the NFL, then we should be pretty attractive to recruits. Look at Bortles. That said, I really like QF. He seems like a great young man, and he had quite a bit of hardship last year. I wish him the best... would be absolutely terrific he he's really developed like the spring reports say... But we still take AW if he's willing to come back. My 2 cents.
  20. Bowl, we go to St. Pete. D really starts to work, spread helps, QF mobility, great RBs. Yes I am the eternal optimist.
  21. Awesome, thanks for posting!! Us far-displaced Bulls appreciate it.
