I don't think anyone here is contesting an ocs, just contesting the notion that's it's a necessity and needs be built now. All us "contrarians" are saying is that if one was a financial improvement over the present situation, it would be in the works.

Absolutely .... and then read this, the stadium's 23 luxury suites sold out quickly , along with the rest of the nearly 2,000-seat inventory of loge boxes and club seating, and the tingle turned to numbness.

Can't wait to see Tulane's new OCS next season. USF will do something similar but bigger.  Will see Houston's new OCS in 2018 as I will be traveling to more of the road games as retirement comes closer. By the way, went to Cincy this past season and their new OCS renovations are nice. Love Nippert.

WTF, does that have to do with a twenty minute drive??

BTW...The upper bowl is now closed for USF games unless there is more demand for tickets  (I.E. Florida State Seminole game), so essentially the stadium seats in the low 40s for Bulls games.

I didn't say it has anything to do with the drive...it's simply a fact...Raymond James is too big for USF just like the Liberty Bowl is too big for Memphis.

I mean, that's like UAB fans pretending Legion Field only holds 45,000 because they tarp off 20,000+ seats...like that commercial says 'that's not how any of this works'

Maybe find room for a cricket pitch too.

If you want to play Cricket on a football pitch, there's no better example on the planet than the MCG. Even big enough for horse racing and baseball, but small enough to be NOISY as HELL

Had a BLAST there watching the Roos beat the Pies a few years back.

Just need a little more overhand for shade. We must comfort our fans. There was a tennis stadium on sim city that looked perfect for USF. It look like a bull ring. USF can paint and out Green & Gold lights. Welcome to the Bull Ring!!

Could probably recruit a Top 10 Cricket team from all the Indians hanging around the Fish Bowl.

It will be interesting to take a look at one of the new ocs's being built and see what $75 million can get you. Found it also interesting that of that $75M, $32.5M of it came from 2 donors .... and that doesn't include however many millions Jill and Avram Glazer kicked in.

when you see Tulane's stadium, remember this...they had to make it 'low profile' on one side as there are really high dollar homes that back up the stadium and practice field...one of those home owners was a lawyer, got the neighbors together, and threatened to sue over 'noise/light pollution' along with increased car traffic lowering their home values.

notice the massive homes that back up to the small side of the stadium pictured below.

So while Tulane claims it holds 30,000...it's more like 26,000 with some SRO areas. (which is perfect for Tulane)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
