#25 USF vs. ECU - Official Game Thread

Good thing a few teams in front of us lost this past week because even if we win today, I think we would fall out of the rankings.

I warned about this particular game  some time ago. Real Time RPI had us losing this and the upcoming game with UConn. Of course, we can still win, but we need to play much better on both ends of the court. If ECU wins, their RPI will most likely be in the 50's, so it won't be considered a "bad" loss for NCAA purposes.

When you're borderline #25 in the country and you barely slide by an unranked Amercan Conference team and losing by 12 at halftime, you don't hold your ranking. Ranking isn't only based on wins, it's also based on the eye test of how you play in those wins. Some #26 or #27 team who is almost as equivalent as we are can jump us if we limp into a win and they convincingly win their game by 40 (depending on opponent). But you said that even if we win and teams in front of us have lost that we would drop out of the rankings.  Didn't understand that. 

 

And if you think these people that vote watch these games then how the heck do you explain us not being ranked with a 16 RPI at one point and looking really good most of the year.
