While prep school basketball’s traditional power area is on the East Coast, Sunrise Christian has fielded strong high school and post graduate teams on the Great Plains in recent years.

 

A nice mix of international talent spurs a good crop of overall talent this season. Two backcourt members Dupree McBrayer and Jahmal McMurray are both headed to the Division-1 ranks, and if they can’t get it going, wings Travis Munnings and Nathan Bain (Stephen F. Austin) both have the potential to blow up this season, given the opportunity

 

The interior won’t take a back seat to anyone. Canadian center Matthew Neufeld made an early pledge to Saint Louis, while Eric Hamilton originally inked with Wichita State as a member of the 2014 class but ended up at Sunrise Christian for a post-graduate year. There’s more depth, as well, for Sunrise Christian to utilize against their schedule this year.
