When do we get kicked out for not being competitive should be the question

As soon as Vanderbilt gets kick out of the SEC and Wake Forest gets kicked out of the ACC and Northwestern out of the B1G.

Remember Syracuse got invited to the ACC even though they weren't competitive in the Big East.

There is more to being in the conference than football. Vanderbilt actually finished ranked 20th last season in football and have a good basketball team that makes an NCAA tournament appearance most years including 6 sweet 16s. Wake Forest has a 60 year history in the ACC and has a pretty bad football team now, but they were in a bowl as recently as 2011 and from 2005-2009 were a good team who won a conference title in 2006. They also have a basketball team that has made 14 NCAA tournament appearances in the past 23 years with 5 top 10 finishes and 4 sweet 16s. Northwestern has been to 5 straight bowl games and is ranked 16th at the moment in football. All three of these teams have been in their respective conferences for a long time and have had occasional successes like conference championships or NCAA sweet 16s, etc. Syracuse while not being as good since Pasqualoni's departure actually has a national championship and several conference championships on their football resume as well as being one of the top basketball schools in the country.

I'm well aware of everything you posted.  My point is, if football performance were a requisite for staying in a conference, then several schools would have been kick out a long time ago.

I think it was a lot more than performance if I remember correctly.

Attendance, they didn't have control of scheduling at their facilities (clashed with Phillies) and quality of OOC scheduling.

When the AAC kicks USF out (a la the Big East and Temple 10 years ago) for not being competitive. Then FAU can take our place.

No one is going to kick us out of the AAC

Thanks, I knew there was more to it.
