Shaw Makes American Weekly Honor Roll

By TOM ZEBOLD

USF Senior Writer

TAMPA – USF’s Marcus Shaw has landed a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after putting together a career day against FAU.

The senior back rushed for a career-high 153 yards on 21 carries in the Bulls’ 28-10 loss to the Owls on Saturday night at Raymond James Stadium. Shaw, from Arcadia, Fla., currently ranks sixth in the NCAA with 394 rushing yards on 56 carries.

Shaw’s big game against FAU marked his second 100-yard performance of the season and his 153 yards were the 14th-most in USF single-game history.

The Bulls have a bye this week and return to Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28 to host No. 16/17 Miami. Game time has yet to be determined.

Game time has yet to be determined.

...but not the game. :(

This is great for Shaw, he's shown so much potential over the years even as a freshman. It's definitely a relief to see one of the guys performing to their potential--setting a great example for the team, I hope he sets more records and gets other guys motivated to fight.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
