USF Re-Emerges Among U.S. News' Top "Up-and-Comers"

Annual list includes USF for the third time in four years.

TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2013) — The University of South Florida again ranks as one of the nation's top "up-and-coming" universities, according to the latest list compiled by U.S. News & World Report for its 2014 Best Colleges edition.

 

It is the fourth time since the annual list's debut in the 2009 Best Colleges issue that USF has appeared among the institutions cited most often by college presidents, provosts and admissions deans nationwide for having made "the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, faculty, student life, campus, or facilities."

 

This year’s rankings placed USF in a 10-way tie at No. 14 on the "Up-and-Comers" roll of 23 national universities — eight private and 13 public — including the following AAU institutions: Purdue University, University of Southern California, Boston University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Tulane University.

What I mean is... Those guys are up and comers? I thought they were, for most practical purposes, already at the top.
