Bortles named to Davey O'Brien Award Watch List

 

I can't wait for Bridgewater to show UCF fan how far Bortles is away from him.  That may be my favorite non-USF game of the year.

 I'd take either one at USF. They both have shown they are leaders, can pass and rush, and make sound decisions on the field. Bortles may be the best QB UCF has ever had. His passing yardage and rating is better than Culpepper as a soph, even rushed for more yards.

I watched several of Bortles games last year.   He's ok, but he isn't even remotely close to the QB Culpepper was.  Culpepper did a lot more with a lot less.  Bortles would have started as a sophomore at very few DI programs.  I'm still not convinced that he is better than Godfrey, he just fits what O'Liar wants better than Godfrey.

Not anymore.

 

If we want to get out of this dumpster fire, we need all of our conference mates to go undefeated in OOC play and lose to us.

 

We also need a couple of them (Houston, SMU, UCF, maybe) to win most of their in-conference games.

 

Even if we all win all our OOC games, if we have in-conference parity, we'll be seen as a weak league.

 

We need to be top dog, with a small gang of lieutenants, and the rest of the conference has to take some for the team.
