Time to ban all television coverage of our games the rest of the season. lol Still a good series. Taking two games on the road against a top 50 RPI team is a major victory. Plus we are guaranteed a .500 record on the road in conference and are still unbeaten at home in conference. That's a solid formula to be a contender. Updated standings Team ... W-L ... GB ... GR USF.... 15-3 ... 0.0 ... 6 [Clinched tournament berth - #5-seed or higher] [3-0 vs Pitt] Pitt... 15-3 ... 0.0 ... 6 [Clinched tournament berth - #5-seed or higher] [0-3 vs USF] UL..... 14-4 ... 1.0 ... 6 [Clinched tournament berth - #6-seed or higher] SHU.... 13-5 ... 2.0 ... 6 [Clinched tournament berth - #7-seed or higher] RU..... 10-8 ... 4.0 ... 6 ND...... 8-10 .. 7.0 ... 6 UConn... 9-12 .. 7.5 ... 3 SJU..... 7-11 .. 8.0 ... 6 GU...... 5-13 . 10.0 ... 6 UC...... 4-17 . 12.5 ... 3 VU...... 2-16 . 13.0 ... 6 Rutgers can clinch a berth with a win over Georgetown. Next week's schedule USF @ Seton Hall Villanova @ Pittsburgh Louisville @ Connecticut Georgetown @ Rutgers Notre Dame @ St Johns Bye week: Cincinnati Our RPI dropped to #52 (but there are still some Sunday games going on that may change it a few places). Here's the rankings of the toughest conference schedule based on win percentage of their opponents (and the two teams they do not play). This includes the records of the teams still ahead on the schedule. Cincinnati...... .583 (Connecticut & Georgetown) Georgetown...... .578 (Cincinnati & Notre Dame) St Johns........ .553 (Rutgers & Villanova) Notre Dame...... .527 (Georgetown & Rutgers) Villanova....... .520 (St Johns & USF) Connecticut..... .514 (Cincinnati & Pittsburgh) Rutgers......... .513 (Notre Dame & St Johns) USF............. .473 (Louisville & Villanova) Pittsburgh...... .442 (Connecticut & Seton Hall) Seton Hall...... .400 (Louisville & Pittsburgh) Louisville...... .400 (Seton Hall @ USF) So looking at this, it really gives you an idea of how skewed the standings can be. Louisville and Seton Hall get to skip out on playing two of the top 4 teams.
Reliable Source Posted May 6, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 731 Content Count: 10,367 Reputation: 170 Days Won: 40 Joined: 09/15/2008 Share Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) Our RPI is now at 52. Somebody must has lost to some dogs on Sunday. The loss to ND didn't hurt us in RPI much at all. RPI is a bit of a crapstat anyway. like all computer polls there is inherent bias based on the parameters in the poll. Ex: Did it take into acct that we had player 29 innings since Fri nite out of town in a hostile weather environment? Beat Bethune- Cookman. What would be their mascot? Pillsbury Dough-boy? BTW B-C up to 84 in RPI. Edited May 6, 2013 by Bullwinkle
