Just wondering what the history was behind this game against Nevada and the home and home against Ball State. Definite had scratchers for me. It simply may be that we had no other options, and the schedule would have been blank. However, this truly shows where we are in the grand scheme of things. Away games at "Non-BCS" schools, especially one out West is tough to swallow. Does anyone remember Wollard giving an interview about these games?

The Nevada game is even worse now as we have to return on a short week and play a very meaningful game against a Big East opponent.

Nevada was added late because of TCU's departure.

I think Nevada was a replacement for TCU departing the Big East.

Nevada was a last minute replacement, because TCU left the Big East.

Don't remember how we ended up scheduling a home and home with Ball State.

IIRC the Ball State was pushed off from way back in the day.... Keep in mind that we're only 16 years old. Also, with the current conference schedules there aren't that many opportunities to play quality opponents OOC.

Thanks, that makes sense now with the Nevada game.

I'm looking forward to playing Michigan State next year.

Also, I think this was supposed to be a possible UCF game at the Citrus Bowl, but UCF did not want to deal with the Citrus Bowl anymore.

I don't think it was the case that "Ball State was pushed off from way back in the day."

I think it was more a case of just wanting to play two games each year against non BCS teams and`we didn't want to pay the steep price of a one and done "pay" game for such a team.
