I really don't see Florida bouncing back yet. Urban Meyer destroyed that team. it'll take them another two years at least if the goal is to compete for a national championship.

if that's the case then please let us find someone to "destroy' our team.

I'd take 2 national championships (note it took UF 100 years to win one without him). he would have won a third if cam newton stayed there.

perhaps it has something to do with going from an offensive philosophy to a defensive one. or perhaps because their current head coach had 0 head coaching expereince.

LOL

Meyer won with the talent Zook left him with, and he ran away when it was obvious he was incapable of replacing the talent.

I agree but then doesn't that make him a good coach and not so good recruiter ?

Yep.

Lots of Meyer apologists on this board. It is impossible to objectively look at last year's roster and conclude that Meyer left the team ready to compete with Alabama and LSU. As I recall, there were only something like 68 scholarship players on the roster. There was a serious lack of upperclassmen.

It was a mess, and Meyer got while the getting was good.

Yep.

again how do you credit a NC that Meyer won in year 4 to zook.

check out the list of recruits urban meyer signed.

UF fans are so hurt over meyer leaving. I laugh at my buddies who tell me how awful he was for their program .

I'm no apologist.

was the situation ideal? no. did their record have something to do with a change in philosophy from offense to defense? possibly. did it have something to do with a rookie head coach that had never called a game in his life? probably.

to suggest he was a terrible recruiter and won only with zooks guys(especially 4 years after zook was fired) is laughable.

tim tebow, percy harvin, pouncey twins, aaron hernandez, cam newton etc. were all recruited and signed by meyer

sorry.

I just love to tell UF fans that they lost the best thing to happen to their football program in over 100 years.

they all hate him now

it's funny now how they all say zook was responsible for meyers wins while meyer is responsible for muschamps losses.

the man won 2 NCs and 1 heisman in 6 years there.

I tell them muschamp won't win 2 SEC east titles in 6 years. they get pissed.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
