Being drafted in baseball really isn't that big of a deal. I think that there are over 30 rounds.

I'm hoping with the new facilities and the success of the ladies softball team, Prado will have a fire lit under his ass.

If its not a big deal then why did we only have 3 players drafted from a team with a lot of upper classmen??? Hmmmmmm

Possibly becasue we sucked out loud? HMMMMMMMM...WTF??

I realize this. It seemed like you were trying to go against the sherrifs argument by saying its no big deal usf didn't have as many draftees as stony brook due to it not being a big deal.

And yes skingraft, I realize how the MLB draft works. I have friends in the minors, friends that turned down draft picks for college, and a couple that were taken this year as well. Thanks for explaining it to others though since the MLB draft isn't common knowledge to the general public such as the NFL draft.

Stony Brook appears to be the hottest team on the planet right now. They've won something like 28 out of 34 games, so they would beat plenty of teams. I do not think they would mop the floor with us though. We would be competitive and most likely win a game or two against them especially if it was early in the season. Remember Stultz and Barbosa each had sub 3.00 ERAs. I would like our chances with either of them going. They do have a stud in Jankowski. It would have been nice to have him in our lineup.

Its great to have this baseball chatter. It would be nicer if some of you guys would actually make it out to the stadium to root for our team....

I think most of you missed my point. I was busting our own chops for playing them in football. At the time it really wasn't any kind of judgement of our baseball team.

Agreed. There is a small core group that attends, but it will take a trip back to the regionals to expand on that group.

People are speaking with their wallets. They don't want to see such a poor product.

I think next year is Prado's last year unless he gets us to the dance.

But the whole thing needs an infusion of energy and excitement. It's not just on the field; it's off the field also. The in-game environment is lacking and the marketing (yes, that again) is lacking

I must attend different baseball games than you. For a college baseball atmosphere, I think things go pretty well. They do the same type stuff between innings as most minor league parks and the stadium is beautiful. A few more hits from the team would be nice, but I can't complain about the atmosphere at all.

Sub 3.0 era against some of the worst teams and easiest schedules in the country means nothing.

I won't be happy till USF has a bark at the park game. We take our dog to the Threshers, Tampa Yankees and Dunedin Blue Jays bark at the park games every year.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
