This has always been a bright spot for USF football. I am not sure what the national average is, if it exists, for a walk on to become a starter, but at USF we seem to have faired well in this catergory.

We can really use a consistent kicker with a strong leg and from reading this article it appears there may be hope for better things to come.

I don't understand how a kicker who had recognition like Tarpley fell through the cracks and is walking on. There had to be schools that were after him.

EDIT: Looks like he was at UCF at one point. Can't find anything on why he left or if he even made it to campus. http://ucf.rivals.com/cviewplayer.asp?Player=425376

ESPN rated Tarpley as the 15th best kicker in the nation in 2010.

And I'm pretty sure Max Thuriere (kicker) is Sebastian's little brother. Sebastian was a senior on the USF soccer squad last year.

Too bad the Sumo wrestler didn't make it into USF this spring.

He hadn't started the application process when it was very close to start of spring semester. Not sure what his academic standing is in terms of getting in or not. Remember, he only had a few tackles in two seasons of NAIA football, so while it's a fun story, it's unlikely to result in any significant playing time. ...
