fact is usf needs a whole lot more talent

#1 rushing offense in BE

#2 passing offense in BE

#1 in the country for tackles for loss and #2 in the country for sacks.

we are not in the SEC. we have plenty of talent to compete in a terrible BE.

meaningless stats

do you know our conference record?

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but if you are going use stats to justify how we are good enough to win a conference, shouldn't the stats be from conference games only?

they are from the conference games only. I have said over and over that these rankings do not include OOC games.

except for the sacks in the country and tackles for loss. those include every game.they are national stats.

we do lead the conference in sacks as well though.

and we are #1 in fewest sacks allowed in the conference.

#2 red zone efficiency defense.

#2 3rd down conversions.(offense)

#1 total first downs(offense)

again these are all conference only stats meaning they only include games against BE opponents.

I'm not sure people actually watch our opponents. the big East is full of crappy teams. UofL who leads this conference has lost to FIU and Marshall.

here is the BE website with conference only stats.

http://www.bigeast.o...11/confonly.htm

only teams that dont win care about such stats

sure do. do you know what talent means?

stats are a way to measure individual talent.

adrian peterson

maurice jones drew

lesean mccoy

fred jackson

4 of the top 6 running backs in the NFL by rushing stats and none play for a winning team. are they talented?

I don't think you even watch our conference. you compare our players to USC. do we have their talent? No. do we have enough to win the big east? absolutely.

I don't care about stats but they disprove your lack of talent theory. there is more than enough talent on this team to win the big east. you watch too much USC football.

I don't like the lack of talent argument when so many felt differently earlier - in fact stated we were better off this year than last. It's a team game. The coach has to do the best possible with what he has. That's how he should be judged. Is he? That's the debate. The players making plays is how they sould be judged. Are they executing correctly? Bottom line - team game. All are in it together.

I fully agree Bulliever. Too many people want to blame players and let the coaches off the hook............for shame. From my perspective, the coaching's lack of aggression is the at the root of the teams inability to be successful in the BE.

we have enough talent to play toe-to-toe with notre dame and miami, two teams that are ranked in the top 10 for recruiting every year.

UofL is 4-2 in the big east and has losses to FIU and Marshall.

we have more than enough talent to compete in the Big East.

I agree. As I've said all along the coaching staff know what the players are capable of doing. We fans think we know what the players are capable of doing.
