Excerpt:

MK: Well, then who is coming at you the hardest?

WA: Kansas, Missouri, and South Florida.

MK: Do you have any visits coming up?

WA: I only have one setup and that is Missouri. (End of Sept.)

MK: Would you re-commit to South Florida Bulls like you did coming out of high school?

WA: I am looking at them.

This is the 2nd thread you started about him on the wrong board. He is now considered a prospect.

There is already a thread about him on the prospects board.

This has been a recorded message.  :D

JUCO 6'11" center has USF on his short list. Boy we could use a big man.

JUCO big man Waverly Austin's final four are Miami (visited over weekend), South Florida, Kansas & Florida.

I guess he liked what he saw. Welcome to USF, Mr. Austin. You fill a "big" need.

gregauman Greg Auman

Big get for Stan Heath, who gets commitment from 6-11 juco center Waverly Austin, '09 Bulls signee who chose USF over Kansas, Missouri.

Here's a nice article about him. Hopefully, the instability is all behind him and no more academic roadblocks and stays commited to us to the end ...  When is the signing day for these guys?

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
