Alabama thinks they've got him

Alabama preseason practice report: Day 7

And here's a recruiting nugget: Amari Cooper, a 6-2, 180-pound wide receiver from Northwestern High School in Miami, is expected to announce his commitment to Alabama on Aug. 26. There's less hype about Cooper because he was injured for much of his junior year.

Yeah, I was reading this Bama thread earlier. Some interesting things in there.

It can't hurt to offer him at this point. Besides, it might put some pressure on D'vario to commit to us.

I think our offer to him was in a while ago. Just sounds like he is willing to roll the dice on FSU or Bama. Got to believe with the recent headlines, Bama is his new home.

Doesn't sound like he had a previous offer from USF:

Taylor, a defensive end who also had a scholarship offer from Louisville and interest from Tennessee, Florida and USF before committing to Miami in February, spoke to coaches from Tennesee, Florida and USF on Wednesday night regarding interest in getting back on their radar.

No... we really did just offer him only yesterday.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
