didn't shaq go to a D-1 school and stay all four years. I'm not saying the kid is Shaq, but he could a have a strong upside.

a 7'er with range is good even if he isn't great in the post... which this kid says he is getting better at (drop step).  He probably has a lot of work to do to be ready... but I think Mac and Co. are willing to take on that task and make him into a solid contributor on both the low post and on defense.

Triple I won't get into the scoop topic but the Post Police would disagree :)

My post had nothing to with the other board. I don't want to get in the middle of that .....   :o

Triple - I was only making a joke from a thread from the other day that referenced the Post Police.  There was no ill intent or anything of that nature.

... but 7 footers aren't in the NBA before college unless they are potential superstars... this kid hasn't graduated college yet.  So look at all the 7 footers in college... do they all suck?  they aren't in the NBA yet... some might, but not everyone skips the college level, as much as it may seem.  ...

VERY True ... afterwards I realize my comment is a bit critical, not the intention.

Size is great, hopefully the hands and feet are just as good.

Go BULLS !!!

I trust Mac and co. that they see something in this kid that will make him a contributor... maybe he won't be a star... who knows... but they must see something, in addition to size.

Not being negative, but the saying is "if a 7 footer isn't in the nba, he's probably not that good" ...

Obviously, I hope I'm wrong.

I've seen too many 7 footers in D2 that have tranfered from D1 schools, Maryland and UF recently, that are just average players.

Go BULLS !!![/quote

****! man learn to smell the roses!

at least until the kid has his first practice with coach mac or plays his first game in a usf uniform,

congrats.. 7 footers hard to come by...at 245  sounds like a  thin kid.. but.. still may be a good inside presense..  if he has quick hands should be able to block alot of shot.
