If you think this is just another bowl game.....think again.  Just check out how many recruits we compete with them.  Just this year alone there are like 4 4-star players from Florida that have committed.  This game is nearly as important as beating the Canes.  Go to the bowl if you can to support the program.

Just because those guys are from FL does not mean we had any chance with them. For players like Sammy Watkins and Mike Bellamy were are not even on their radar and there is no way a win vs. Clemson would change that. Our win vs. UM hasn't really changed much either. The firing of Randy Shannon as helped but not our win specifically. Plus it's not like we are really battling them for a tons of players they are after or they have committed. Bridgewater was a soft commit prior to our W and the firing only makes him more of a soft commit. Rodgers was dropped regardless of what he says and as far as Chickillo goes, he has opened up his recruitment again because of Shannon's firing, nothing else. It's not like because of our win vs. Miami a player like Kelvin Benjamin will come our way. These wins are nice but BE championships, wins in BCS games and consistent top 25 rankings will change the landscape.

I was not meaning one game would change the minds of this years players and recruiting class, however, it would improve the perception, open up more doors and recruiting certain areas (such as Jacksonville....which Clemson has a strong presence) would bring.

Athletic department has to grow the boosters and the facilities.  We still have a ton of USF graduates who don't support the program with money or go to games.

It will take another 10 years to build that program and we need to establish better traditions around the games.  Right now it is weak compared to other schools.

Absolutely spot on, Riz. The hardcore fans we do have are great, but if USF keeps building things correctly more folks with some greenbacks will be coming aboard.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
