USF Womens' basketball starts off with a bang

Tampa, Florida - Their slogan is "Whatever It Takes" and it's sure working for the USF Women.

The Bulls are 12-4 and 2-0 in Conference USA.

Initially, their first-ever taste of the postseason seemed sour in an eight point loss last March.

RACHAEL SHEATS / USF Guard:

"Technically, we probably should have won that game, if you ask me or anyone else on the team, but I think it was a good start."

It was actually more of a rocket launch.

JOSE FERNANDEZ / Head Coach:

"We're 3rd in the nation in turnovers. We're leading the league in scoring defense, so that's pretty good."

Overcoming injury with solid back ups, the Bulls seem to have an answer for every foe. No matter who. In December, the went toe to toe with powerhouse Connecticut before falling in OT.

JESSICA DICKSON / USF Forward:

"I mean, it doesn't scare us, we're just coming to play basketball and that's what we have to do."

The NIT loss isn't the only motivation. The Bulls have never finished higher than 500 in Conference USA and want to go out with a bang before heading to the Big East. They're also fired up about being picked a dismal 8th in the conference coming into the season.

RACHEAL SHEATS

"It's gives us a fire to continue on and work hard. I think everyone's just feeling this natural high right now. The sky's the limit for us, it feels good."
