Uh huh.  He's going to leave a program where he gets a top 5 recruiting class every year and where he ranks just behind Jesus Christ to coach WVU? As others have said, I'll believe it when I see it. WVU is a good program but they aren't Alabama.  Bama is up in the rarefied air that only 4 or 5 other programs can lay claim to.

The only valid possibility for Saban is because Morgantown is right next to where he's from.  Morgantown is 19 miles from Fairmont.  He probably hasn't lived there since he was a teenager.

Saban is a notorious stair climbing coach and he's currently as high as you can get in the college coaching food chain.  Maybe going to Michigan would be a step up, but I don't think so at this point.

It's more likely if Stewart leaves that WV picks up a name coach where WV would be a step up.  I think Dantonio at Michigan State certainly would be a candidate in that area because Michigan State will always have trouble being much better than third or fourth fiddle in the Big Ten, especially if Michigan puts its act together.  They have Nebraska coming in.  Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and this year Wisconsin.  Michigan State can rightfully feel a bit slighted this year after beating Wisconsin.

Malzahn could definitely be a reality too.

Though is Saban came calling and said he wanted to be near his dad, I'd think WVU would find a way to drop Stewart like a rock.  If Nick Saban says he'll downgrade programs to coach for you, you take him up on his offer.

Saban can't go to West Virginia. I have it on good authority from a well-placed source that he's leaving Alabama to coach at a high school in northern Iowa, he supposedly thinks it will get him closer to his roots.

Also, he's going to pay the school to allow him to coach there.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"I wish you guys could be in the locker room and be on the practice field because it is so much different from what it has been in the past."
