His contract stipulated that if they won the BCS, then he would become the highest paid I-A coach. So, after the Sugar Bowl last year, they bumped his salary to exactly $1 over Stoops'.I hear that LSU will make an offer to Petrino...

However, my source says that they are doing this as a backup in case they can't get Petrino. Petrino is the man they want.

UL has the money to get alot of good coaches. If Patrino needs/wants the money he is gone. I doubt he has nearly as good a season next year as this. If he plans on moving now is the time. Just for grins if his new contract where for say 1.8 million and he got paid weekly his new check would be $34,615.39 a week versus his old check of $19,230.77. Would you leave for a pay increase of $15,384.62 a week ?

When Jurich took the podium during the annual Liberty Bowl Awards Banquet yesterday afternoon, he was complimentary of Boise State and its program. When he mentioned coach Dan Hawkins, he said, "I admire the great job he's done there and the loyalty he's shown that university." I love Louisville, my wife loves Louisville, my kids love Louisville. (Bob Petrino 12/21/2004)
