Who is going to pay for it. Doubtful that Hillsborough puts up the money. If Stu bulds it with his money then I am all for it. Although St. Pete will sue him.

Leases are made to be broken.  Saint Pete will not be able to keep them there.  Yes they will probably get money, but they won't be playing there past the 2015 season IMO.

i think that was the point he was trying to make.

he is saying "ok we are NOT going to stay in st pete so st pete needs to allow other surrounding areas to talk with us about re-locating but staying in the area.

if that doesnt work he will just wait until another market comes in willing to build a stadium and pay the buy out.  (new jersey, charlotte, whoever)

nothing is going to happen any time soon so you can all expect to see the rays at the trop for atleast the next 4 years.

who knows, by that time the economy might be looking better and tampa (fairgrounds) could be a realistic option.

i still dont understand how MLB agreed to put a team in the Trop.  and allow them to lock in for that long of a lease.  there should of been a clause that said something new would have to be built within 10 years. 

st pete has no business having a MLB team.  i wonder what % of the crowd comes from outside of the city of st pete.

It's not happening without some major fudging of some numbers from other areas.

i would imagine that the seminole indian tribe would really like to see that stadium buiilt at the fairgrounds.  the question is....what would MLB think about that if the seminoles came in with a large investment into the stadium.

The Seminole Indian Tribe isn't putting money towards it. They're being investigated by the Feds for illegal spending of funds.

They'd like to see it there, but I don't expect much money outside of potential advertisng

The buyout shrinks significantly after the 2012 or 2013 season which is not far away.  Foster better get his head out of his A## or saint pete won't get anything out of it other than a big empty tin can.
