Since returning to the USF staff as offensive coordinator in 2001,

I guess this means that he was OC for 2001 and 2002. Was there this ******** going on then?

I realize that I'm in the vast minority here but I think this OC headhunting is a bit off base. In more cases than not, it was the execution, not the plays called that spelled disaster.

There were a few "scratch your head" plays but I think every team has those.

I wouldn't go suicidal if Hobbie is still OC next year .... but that's just me.

Duke Fires Offensive Coordinator Galbraith

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Duke fired offensive coordinator Marty Galbraith after one season, during which the Blue Devils ranked last in the Atlantic Coast Conference in points and total offense.

"We've decided to go another direction offensively," Duke coach Ted Roof said in a statement. "Marty Galbraith is a good man and a good football coach, and we wish him well in his future endeavors."

Duke (2-9, 1-7) averaged 16.6 points and 265.5 yards per game.

Galbraith came to the Blue Devils after spending the 2003 season as tight ends coach for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals. Before that, he spent three seasons with North Carolina State, serving as offensive coordinator in 2001 and '02.

Well, this is true.  However, the present QB coach can not boast the same success of 2001-2002, where marquel blackwell was not trained up by mr smith.

However, Hobbie did not exactly adjust quickly, and that cost us games.  I would fire both, though if I had to pick it would be the guy who trained ronnie and pat, and couldn't do anything with anybody else.

Why should USF terminate Mike Hobbie?

Judging from the biographical synopsis on the GoUSFBulls.Com website, Coach Hobbie is well-qualified to serve as an associate football coach within the Leavitt Administration.

Perhaps you could enumerate plausible reasons to terminate Hobbie's contractual agreement with the University.

If we had a QB who could execute the plays, it wouldn't seem quite as bad...

Give the OC one more year because he should have more options at QB to work with. The plays were there, but the ball never was on target to the WRs.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
