if usf felt like they had nothing to stand on this would have been over a long time ago...

if USF had any doubt they woulda paid him his full salary and moved on to save any potential embarrassment.

If they had a LOT of doubt they would have paid him and moved on ... With just any doubt, it's like "What the hell, let's just roll the dice and see how it plays out".

Also, keep in mind Doug Woolard has never been the Director of Athletics at a university with a football program.  Have you ever heard of this thing called The Peter Principle?

NOTE: Just pointing out mizzou's hypocrisy. I have no way to affect the outcome, and I think that it's been beat to death.

Mizzou, could one not say the "Peter Principle" applies(d) to leavitt??

Short answer...NO!

See recent NFL Draft for reference.

Leavitt's job was evaluated on winning games/titles not putting players into the NFL ...

Woolard was an athletic director for 10 years before being USF's athletic director the last six years.  I think very few people would call him inexperienced.

Isn't Woolard the Athletic Director, therefore he should be given credit for draft pics as well, right?

Nope...Zero, zip, nada.  This is probably going to come as revelation to you but ADs don't get involved in recruiting.

More to the point, the fact the we had so many drafted, yet did not win a conference title, or even sniff one last year would speak to the level of the coaching.

It takes a depth of talent and lot more talent than what USF has had to consistently win conference titles even in the weak Big East (see OU for reference).  I'splain it all here in this post...

Again, I don't really have a dog in this fight, but I truly can't stand hypocrisy from anyone, in any situation.

Then perhaps you should look in the mirror.

Good for you. Good luck Don Quixote.

LOL!  And where was he AD before he went to USF?

Why it was 100 miles down I-70 from me in St. Louis where they have NO FOOTBALL PROGRAM in a conference that has NO FOOTBALL PROGRAMS.

First of all, he's been AD at a school with a football program for six years now.  How many years does it take to gain experience?  20?  30?

Secondly, what in the world does having a football program have to do with an employee-student abuse case?  You have some strange ideas about employment law.

Again, this is really not about any student abuse that never happened.  It's about a few too-big-for-their-britches Iron Bull Donors with big egos that decided that USF could do better and was in Woolard's ear about it.  Leavitt was never Woolard's guy and perhaps he felt threatened by his notoreity.  Most ADs also have big egos, too and they don't like it when their subordinates get more attention than them.

But back to Woolard's inexperience...Before USF how many football coaches has he hired or fired?  Woolard is only human and is going through a learning curve when it comes to football.

Again, this is not about Leavitt's coaching ability.  The relevant question is how many employees has Woolard hired or fired?

You still seem confused about Leavitt's reasons for termination.  His ability to coach on the football field will not be discussed during the trial.

And you're determined he's guilty in spite of the flimsy evidence against him and the witnesses that back him up.  You have an agenda and will not be deterred from it.  The sad part is you really don't care if a good man was wrongly smeared.  That speaks volumes about your character.

GLASS HOUSES...

And you're determined THAT USF RAILROADED HIM in spite of the evidence against him and the witnesses that back him up YET CONTRADICT THE STANDING OR SITTING STATEMENT.  You have an agenda and will not be deterred from it.  The sad part is you really don't care if a good UNIVERSITY was wrongly smeared.  That speaks volumes about your character.

First, this is a different discussion then the one we were having.  It has nothing to do with my response.

Two, I am not determined he's guilty.  But there is sufficient evidence against him and he hasn't provided any evidence in his favor.

Three, it speaks nothing about my character.  Why must I believe he is innocent in order to be of high character?

If you want to believe what your friend tells you despite ample evidence to the contrary, be my guest.  Someone of high character is concerned about the truth, which is not something you seem concerned with.

I really don't understand why you continually insist on insulting people that disagree with you.  You may want to reevaluate your definition of character.

You two are willingfully ignoring an awful lot of facts as well as sworn statements from adults (including a decorted law enforcement officer that has been selected to join the FBI) in order to reach your verdict of guilty.  You have good company with Woolard and Genshaft, though.

at what age do you consider an individual an adult?

I'm sure that he'll be able to 'splain it to us.

Someone out of college with a job.

By your definition those Men and Women in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.. are not adults unless they are officers, or at the very least a college graduate that chose to be a Non-Comm. You are a sad, sad human being.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
