UF and FSU really get their name out there, but we have trouble for some reason. If we want to be a big time D-1 school, all aspects need to be big time D-1....meaning the facilities, student and fan turnout, donors and boosters, our marketing department, and administration. If we want to be big time, we need to start acting like it. There are no more excuses.

Not exactly hiring, but going around campus promoting a game, and in exchange getting pizza or a gift card.2) Win. Winning solves everything. If you are an alumni/student/fan of USF, then going to a football, basketball, baseball, etc game should not be over shadowed by going to Busch Gardens. People will drive from Tampa to gville or tally to see a UF or FSU game.

We don't have the base yet to fill 65,000 seats at RJS, nor 9000 at the SunDome, nor 2000 at the Red. So the issues are putting butts in seats and building our loyal fanbase. Also, you can say you're sick of the "excuses" all you want, but you can't keep comparing us to UF and FSU and then not recognize the differences in the situations, such as where the schools are located and the history (or lack of). But you also have to remember that Tampa is a much bigger town than gville and tally. We have a much larger local fan base to draw from than gville and tally do. Tampa has more billboards than both tally and hogtown have combined.Put all of USF's current marketing into a tiny little city, and it'll look huge. And one last thing, Tampa has grown DRASTICALLY since the 70's. A huge chunk of the Tampa area population is not from Tampa nor USF alums.
