This is a legit site and they can't even get their facts straight.  I guess it would make sense that the St. Pete Times Forum is in St. Pete.  At least it doesn't have us as Southern Florida.

Would there be a good chance we get in there if we get in?

Can't play on the court where you are the host.

I'm not 100% sure if that's right. Last year Villanova played there first two games of the tournament at the Wachovia Center in Philiy and I'm pretty sure they were the host for that site. I think I remember the announcers saying about how you can be seeded to play at a venue in the tournament as long as you only play under a certain percent of your home games during the season there.

No, I think that's the rule.  St. Joseph's was the host at Wachovia last year...and you must be the host if it's your home court (determined by some percentage of season games played there).

That's a bit of a bummer, thanks for the info.

The rule is limited.  Not sure if it just involved the placing of a team.  For instance, what if The Forum hosted the Sweet Sixteen rounds.  If we were int he South bracket and advanced there would that be banned?

The one exception I'm sure of it for the Final Four because that can't be helped, but I think it just involved placement for the opening rounds.

South Florida would most certainly be allowed to play there despite being the "Host Institution".

The only reason they would not be able to play there is if we played like 3 or 4 games at the Forum in regular season.

Dude, you are correct.  Looked up the rule - you can't play on your home court, but you can play at a neutral site where you are hosting as long as you have not played 4 or more regular games there during that season.  I stand corrected.
