Who would have thought that we would finish at .500 in the Big East and be in the NCAA tournament race?

Who would have thought that we would finish with a better record than our women's team, one year after they won the WNIT?

Who would have thought that we would finish better than the traditional basketball powers like UConn, UNC, and UCLA?

Also, it always happens, but here's how off the Big East coaches were at the start of this year.

1. Villanova (10)

2. West Virginia (5)

3. UConn (1)

4. Louisville

5. Georgetown

6. Syracuse

7. Cincinnati

8. Notre Dame

9. Pittsburgh

10. Seton Hall

11. St Johns

12. Marquette

13. Providence

14. USF

15. Rutgers

16. DePaul

Just imagine what we'd be talking about if we had won just two of these four:

CMU

ND

ND

St Johns

Or if Gilchrist stayed healthy all year... (hint... we win all 4 of those AND a couple more)

You can just take the first 3 and we'd already be in.

We were up like 6 at half against South Carolina at that tournament in Charleston and lost.  So many "ifs"

hard to argue "if" considering that heroic win at Providence that started the whole turn around.

That come back down 8 with 50 seconds was borderline fluke.  Still can't believe we won that game.  I think that 3 that fitzpatrick hit to send it to overtime is his only 3 pointer since then.  ha ha.

Without a doubt the craziest game i've seen since following USF basketball.

Toarlyn hit a 3 in ND game, i believe, and also one in another game during the 4 game streak.
