This is the one way LEAVITT could get called into question.  He should not allow himself a garbage staff.  I'm shocked, considering how well this program's done historically, that we'd just sit on 2 years of awful playcalling and TERRIBLE QB ever since the old coach left!

Guys, you usually do not change staff until after signing day in February.  Maybe we are not happy with Smith and Hobbie, but these guys have built relationships with recruits, sometimes over several years, that we don't want to lose now.  The assistant coaching shuffle gets in high gear on Feb. 17th.

Relax, focus on recruiting for now, then we'll see what happens in Feb.

Normal

Something else to consider:

For most of us watching football is entertainment, however for these coaches this little game of ours is how they feed their kids, pay their mortgages and take care of their families. I am not suggesting changes do not need to be  made, however we should show a little more class instead of carelessly calling for someone to get fired. Especially right before Christmas.

My guess, that much like our WR coach last year, coaching changes and additions will be subtle and tactfully done after recruiting is finished.

doesnt make sense to me to wait till after recruting... if we have these coaches out recruiting and players form a "bond" with the coaches who are swiftly shown the door after signing with us it looks kinda bad

It's a two way street, much like players decommitting at the last minute can devastate a recruiting class, a last minute coaching changes may make players unhappy. It happens all the time. However, coaches always tell players to select a 'school' not a 'coach' when making their final decision.

waiting is worse

7 teams fired their head coaches before the season ended

they did''t seem concerned with recruiting

get rid of bad coaches now

why wait a day longer

cb-it should be done with class but firing is a big part of the business
