Not a big loss but we need to move Lamar to WR, he has the same type of skills.

It's a huge loss.  This isn't about this year.  It's about getting kids like this every year, so they are ready when the opportunity comes.  We need depth!  You cannot recruit too many top athletes.

That said, the coaching turnover is going to make it tough to match last year's class.

I'm not at all surprised. I think he would have given a verbal to USC even if Leavitt was not fired and Carnes was still coming here. I always had the impression that he wouldn't have even had USF among his finalists, if it wasn't for Carnes giving an early verbal to USF.

Last year, USF and USC were the final two for Lindsey Lamar.

DataBULL this class wouldn't be anywhere near last years class anyway due to only having half the schollies to give out. I think our biggest need this class was some OL hosses and we have done a great job with that. Remember Holtz has a balanced attack so the WR's won't be AS crucial as in the old offense. We're actually going to be using RB's this year.

This is a big loss anyway you slice it but, I feel that this has been a successful recruiting class due to filling the void in big OL.

I agree...  Lamar is great in the open field, but goes down on first contact very easily... running him into the teeth of the defense just doesn't seem to work very often... but if we can get him into open areas of the field, he can use that lightning speed more effectively.
