his season was wasted by incompetent coaching...

we didn't need to burn his medical RS on 8 carries.

holtz will show usf how it should have been done

It couldn't be worse, in regards to the RB and WR gameplans. I am hopeful to see a coaching staff that will set some sort of conventional subsitution pattern, where we ride our best players and fill them in with backups during breathers. I could never wrap my head around the concept of playing 7 receivers a game, and 5 backs a game. There would be times in crunch time when you would see us going to, who I would perceive, as our 5th best receiver. It was madening.

And Andre was never an NFL star.

And what does that have to do with the fact we didn't rotate RB's while he was here?

My point was ET that alot of folks here compare teams like Rutgars- Rice or Pitt -McCoy or ECU - Johnson and say how great a one back feature team is.  I am saying you don't even need a future NFL star to do it but it sure makes it look easy. While Andre was an excellant back in college he barely had a couple of years in the NFL and wasn't a star but even then he was good enough to be a feature back.  You need at least that level or you will fail with a feature back.

How about giving one guy a chance to become a star. The last time that happened, was with Hall and he was great while he was here. I'm not saying that Ford, or Taylor will be great this season if they are the featured back, but there really isn't a reason to rotate 3,4 or 5 guys in at the RB position. That seems like the kind of position where it takes more than 6-10 touches to get in a groove.

Let (insert name here) tote the pill 18-25 times a game, and let (insert #2rb name here) 5-8 times a game when the starter needs a breather.

Injury killed his 2009 season.

Hope he comes back 100%.

I knew that...just wondered why he wasn't redshirted this season...

He was injured preseason.

He worked his way back.

He played ... because we needed help at RB.

He was re-injured. Couldn't RS.

Maybe our new staff can see into teh future.

how do you figure that we needed help at RB?

how is it a misguided post.... Jamar Taylor himself was pissed off about burning the RS.

I'd love to hear your explanation.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
