The RB coach has been there 5 years and he coached Chris Johnson. It's not that I hate Franks, I swear.  ::) It's just that I like 1,000 yard rushers more.

the only problem with getting rid of franks is recruiting.

Full time recruiter! Bingo.

Obviously I wasn't privy to the decision-making, so I don't have any biases for or against any of the coaches, AS COACHES. Maybe they are all VERY good on the practice field, IDK.

All I can say for sure is that the offensive play-calling and player selection has GOT TO CHANGE.

Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity...

Per Greg's blog:

USF offensive coordinator Mike Canales, hoping to earn a position on Holtz's new staff at USF, has pulled his name out of consideration for the offensive coordinator job at Florida International. Canales had spoken with Panthers coach Mario Cristobal, but is hoping he can stay in Tampa. Canales' wife, Carol, is battling multiple sclerosis, and they would like to stay close to her doctors here.

We haven't had talent like Hall since 2005.

What you say? Most here say Ford is the second coming of Earl Campbell.

Well, he won't have Leavitt "protecting" him any more. He's gonna have to work 24/7 now.

I don't want Franks off the staff by any means. He's our recruiting guy and I want him here. But I'd like to get their RB coach to coach our RB's. He's young, was a very successful RB (3 - 1,000+ yard seasons), and can walk into a recruits house and say "I coached Chris Johnson."

Also it seems like some South Carolina fans think very highly of their TE Phil Petty. Could just be because he's a graduate of their program but they want him back.

Alright, geez I thought this was a question with the question mark at the end of the title "Assistant Coaches ?" and not a statement. You even listed all the position coaches that have been with him 5 years and so I brought up his RB coach who has been with him, um, 5 years. You want Franks here as RB coach and I don't. It hasn't mattered who I've wanted at any position at USF since they started football so I'm sure it won't affect anything this time around either.

I think USF hired a head coach who knows what he is doing, and will put together a staff that will work for his program.  He's far more qualified to do this than anyone here on the Bullspen.
