posted at 9p.m. tonight:

Tommy Bowden met with South Florida officials on Wednesday night to discuss the Bulls’ head coaching vacancy, Rivals.com has learned.

Bowden was out of coaching last season. He coached Clemson from 1999-2008, compiling a 72-45 record with eight bowl appearances. Bowden also coached Tulane from 1997-98, going 18-4.

Seems like Holtz may really be out......

Finally something confirming our interest in Bowden.

Hopefully it's between Holtz/Bowden

Uh huh, and other "sources" have said Holtz is all but a done deal.  When Woolard gets behind a mike and says it I'll believe it.

I wonder why Terry Bowden is not being mentioned that much.

Just because Tommy Bowden interviewed, doesn't mean Skip is out.

Woolard's interviewing other candidates, so that he makes sure he makes the "best" decision.

Also to increase leverage in $$$ negotiation.  Also to be prepared with the next candidate if the first coach offered turns down the offer.  Much more sensible than the USC approach.

If your gonna fire leavitt for something non-related to his coaching, why hire someone who isn't coaching 1-A because of character issues?

Terry Bowden was never a real option and is living in professional exile in North Alabama

I liked their approach. Do you want the job? "Nope." Okay, then how about you? "Not interested." Geez, you have to want the job, right? "No thanks." Fine ****, just give it to Lane Kiffin.

Bowden's teams have gotten man handled by SEC teams, at least recently. I have mixed feelings if he is brought in.
